For a female Shepard, I don't know...but I'd assume it's Joker, your male LI (if he's on the ship) and whoever the female best friend is. Liara?

I didn't have the synthesis option. I had control or destroy. I played out both options and at the end who got out of the normandy shifted.

With the control option Joker gets out followed by Ashley (on my team) and then Edi (not on my team).

With the destroy option Joker gets out followed by Ashley (on my team) and then James (not on my team).

@ Actinguy1 - I have the Prothean DLC actually, haven't seen him in the ending yet. Tho I've only replayed that ending scene like four times.

UNLESS you have the Prothean DLC. Then it shows Joker, Ashley, and the Prothean, which is bull****, because who cares about the Prothean?

I have the DLC and I didn't get him, so I don't think that's a set thing either.

Well on my game I had romanced miranda so obviously she cant step off, and i had tali and prothy with me for the ending. I choose synthesis and so joker and edi come off first and snuggle or w/e and then prothy comes out, i dont think anyone else was shown getting off. I only used him for 3 missions and got him half way through the game so i dont think its just who you used and talked to the most.

It does not matter. It is random everytime.

I don't think it's random who steps out of the Normandy. I think it's your LI first then the squaddie that was used most.

Not sure if anyone answered this yet or not, but the two squad members you take to the beam at the end don't charge like the rest of the team. I noticed this too when my LI survived to the end and thought it was weird, so played through it again and turned around halfway down the hill. They stand where you started, or at least did when I turned around to look. Looked for their bodies after beam hit, and they weren't there. Not sure about the Jack thing though, that's strange.

Well in my game both my party members were on board the Normandy in the ending sequence. Had Liara since ME1, and Jatvik is just damn powerful, especially when you do double Dark Channel with Shepard having it as an extra power.

well i destroyed the reapers and when the normandy doors opened, there was joker, traynor and garrus.

Interesting. So the third character shown may actually be random. I used the Prothean the LEAST...I only used him once, when I was with the Krogans fighting the arachni. Didn't like his character, never used him again. I did talk to everyone after every mission, it's possible that I did more paragon with him than anyone else or something.

Oh, and I did both endings...destroy and control. It was always Ashley and the Prothean (and Joker).

Okay, question two: I think we've established that Joker ALWAYS survives. So now, if you LI was on the ship, was the LI shown as a survivor? And if they weren't on the ship, who were your survivors? Also, specify male or female Shep.

For me: Male Shep. Joker, Ashley (LI), and Jarvik, even though I only used him once.

EDI dies in the destroy ending, so that's why the third slot changed to James.

I think they show your LI no matter what.

I took the Synthesis ending (with FemShep) and got Joker, EDI (these two always show up in that ending), then Liara (LI).

Did you talk to Javik a lot on the ship?

I talked to everyone on the ship every chance I got...just from the fact that you get James before you get the Prothean, I'd think I talked to James more often. Of course, there were times when James had nothing to say...

Just finished second play thru where my MaleShep bromanced Cortez, (I thought Cortez was an awesome LI) and Joker, Cortez and Garrus walked out of the crash. Hmmm, re-population might be an issue.

The squaddie that shows up in post-crash Normandy is whoemever you have the highest friendship rating with (mine was Garrus, since el lover is el dead). I think the higher the EMS rating, the more people that pour out, because I've heard it's EDI, Joker, and then the two who come up have the highest friendship rating, but I only had Garrus.

Which sucks, because I was purposefully a sweetheart to Tali so she and Garrus could get a happily ever after for Shep.

I romanced Ashley, took her and Garrus for the final mission, and chose the destroy ending. Joker, Ashley, and Javik were the ones who stepped out.

I have no idea why Javik was there. I didn't talk to him any more than the other squadmates and didn't take him on many missions.

Still, if brittle-bones disease pilot managed to walk away from his ship crashing, it's not unsafe to assume that everyone on the Normandy survived and they only showed two others to keep it short.
