I actually took a swing at a biotic yesterday. Just a heavy pistol and SMG and as much Singularity/warp/shockwave as I could muster. I learned I don't NEED a sniper rifle to be incredibly dangerous, especially to the enemies that give my team trouble. Human Adept can use warp on a heavy enemy and then Shockwave with the 50% upgrade ad you'll knock 10-15% off even in silver. Bronze it'll kill in 3 salvos.
A lot of the biotics using sniper rifles simply haven't learned how much more dangerous they can be without them. Of course I died a LOT simply because I'm accustomed to a Krogan with Fortification....

I have him spec'ced for movement speed and Cluster Grenades along with pull and just enough to max recharge for Biotic Charge~ My play style differs drastically as I generally play over watch. Sure...Other vanguards tease me and shun me for saving Biotic Charge for rushing to downed players and using grenades to clear the spot but I do just fine! *sniff*
In all seriousness though~ It seems like you have a problem with people that can't function well with others, not the class equipped with the gun. Don't hate because we like to keep a distance away ;3

They can use whatever weapon that they want as far as I'm concerned. Just as long as they aren't ignoring the objectives and teammates so they can get kills. Nothing is more annoying than dying at the feet of a teammate because they lack situational awareness to a degree that they let you die right in front of them.

"Everyone" still use Mantis, I and other people just vote kick them on gold because mostly anything else will outcome them. The Mantis lack consistency to help support your team, put it down.

Asari adepts who use Stasis+Sniper haven't learned of the awesomeness that is biotic explosions. Which enrages me further, as I've yet to unlock one.
