The shock of the terrible ending is beginning to wear off for me and I am beginning to feel that I may be able to replay the game again at some point in the future. As bad as the endings are, it is silly to forgo the other 99% of the game because the cannon endings are awful. As the shock wears off it is becoming easier for me to justify the journey of the three games by utilizing imagination and ignoring the cannon endings. Anyone else appauled by the endings intending to do this? I have already had to retcon the last mission of my first playthrough:

I took Ash and Vega with me (Liara and Garrus were with me originally) and they were killed when Harbinger lasered everyone. Shepard, barely alive, gets back up and makes it to the Conduit where he convinces TIM to Saren himself. Shepard opens the Citadel arms and sits next to Anderson who is dying. They talk, Anderson dies and in Shepard's final moments he sees Harbinger beelining straight at the Citadel to destroy the Crucible. The Crucible activates and Shepard smirks as Harbinger dies in the ultimate, "Who had the last laugh ****?" Shepard dies of his wounds with the smirk on his face.

Galaxy begins rebuilding and Liara is preggers with Shepard's bluebabies. The End!

The best written endings to any trilogy usually always require the audience to headcanon what really happened during the events and after...wait what
