You know how you have to shoot the infection "further up" the line, so that you can kill the data cluster further in? I'm at a node (the third one) where it seems like the intended infection point is too far away for Shepard to shoot at unless he were to stand on the red squares. Do I have to grin and bear the red squares (I haven't tested out what happens on those squares and I'd like to avoid that)? Or is there a path that missed? Thanks in advance.

There's always one to shoot and you can reach them. If you find you cant reach one it may not be the right node/weak spot. Two things to keep in mind
- the rectangles that flash blue will extend more if you walk towards them/on them
- you can stand on the red rectangles
- you need to shoot away all the infected parts from at least the cluster sphere (and I think other parts, well.... it cant hurt)
this might be better in the story forum but I dunno

I don't know why I was so scared to stand on that red square. There's literally a certain infection point you can't hit if you stand just off of one of the red squares :bangs head:
Thanks a lot.
