Potentially certain races would be better at science than others, perhaps that was also the statues of the former surpreme race that was made into husks and so they saw what happened to their society as a memorial.

Those figures are tentacly and regal and all sitting, seems to be the higher echelons, and yet they're husks, and so they seem be a memorial of their race.

Also, Ilos was a secret planet, while the possibility of someone finding it was there I highly doubt the statues were meant to ilicit anything in visitors to a secret planet.

The figures have smooth heads.  However, they look like the "human" husks, sitting on chairs.  That they look like humans is my point.

They looked more like tentacle beard-men.

Asari look humanoid, put some asari in statue form sitting on a chair, some humans might think that it mostly looks like human females. In statue form they could think the monopilyate scalps are helmets, tiaras, or some sort of thing or weird hair doo, a statue is hard to determine much off of.

They spend 300 years around dancing and being mercenaries. They squander their long life and their society is only the most advanced and economically fit because they're Matriaches can fix things up and they've been around longer, since they... live 1000 years.

Let's not forget that the AI had security protocols it was about to shut down until you asked it to answer a question and it liked the question.

I doubt the Asari really wanted to mess with it too much.

Also holding onto Prothean Tech is illegal.

Not all of them choose to.  He's condeming the entire species when there are productive individuals he overlooks?  Does he say anything about the krogan, nuking themselves the second they were capable of the feat?

He mentions that Tuchanka used to be pretty just as the Quarians used to be beautiful but were always making trouble.

Javik is just pissed that certain individuals had Prothean information about the Reapers and either ignored it, passed it off, or didn't try to understand it and instead squandered the artifacts.

Javik is just pissed off in general. The only time he's remotely positive about anything is when you kill off a Reaper, and even then it's generally left-handed compliments or blatant lies that Shepard pressures him into saying for the sake of morale. It's not really directed at anything, Javik is just kind of an A-hole.

But my god is dark channel an awesome bonus power. It's just too bad bonus powers aren't unlocked by profile and you could import with a bonus power because I'd kill to see that thing on an adept Shepard.

If the warning is meant to be dire, it should be as clear as possible.  The simplest warning would be to show themselves, Husk-ified.  The statues also clearly lack any indications on the head of helmets, tiaras, or sculpted flesh, as in the asari.

Funny that he's so harsh to Liara when, if he bothered to inquire about her, she's one of the most important figures in the events of ME1.

Bonus powers were asked of me when I made a New Game + with one, Dark Channel seems to suck tho.

I'm sure the logs showed that as he was reviewing things, but he doesn't care, Reapers are still here, means we screwed up and he's pissed off.

I meant more along the lines of creating or importing a ME2 playthrough, not NG+. Beat the game with my vanguard, import my adept and start with dark channel. Like ME1 and 2 did with the power/loyalty achievements.

Dark channel is stupidly powerful. It absolutely shreds Reaper forces, especially when you back it up with stuff that causes vulnerability. When I switched from slam to dark channel on my vanguard, banshees went from "bad guys to run away from really fast" to "point and laugh" considering how quickly it tears through barriers and armor.

Javik never kills anyone with it...

I'm an Adept though so maybe that's why. Warp seems to suck like nothing else this time around.

On its own, it's not a "killer" power except on mooks (assault troopers, husks, cannibals, the like). What it's good for is to set loose on the little guys to bounce around while you're busy with a big enemy, or toss on a big enemy while focus firing to drop them all the faster. Since it has a massive duration and bounces around, you don't have to spam it -- just toss it out once a fight then use your cooldowns for other powers while it does its job.

It's a shame you don't get it until the very ass-end of the game and I don't think you can unlock bonus powers by profile, because I'm dying to try it with a sentinel or adept. My sentinel won't import for some reason (I have a sneaking suspicion it's because my save glitched and she has 52 squad points) and my adept isn't through ME2 yet.

You could use the save editor to fix that I imagine.

As for Dark Channel, the bonus power "Energy Drain" seems to be the best, though how it works against barriers is bewildering to me.

They are.

I just started a new game with a Sentinel and picked Reave at character creation.
