What do you think? 

My money is on Liara and Javik. If you don't have Javik I would use EDI. Decoy and Chain Overload are great.


I am still undecided about a shotgun I have been using Scmitar.

liara + garrus.

garrus with overload + mine + sniper rifle(Armor Pirceing ammo)
Liara with lots of biotic and SMG(Warp Ammo).

What do you mean Battles are unchanging? I prefer to have Liara without Warp Ammo. So I can get her passives, Singularity and the amazing skill called Stasis that stuns a target and makes them take massive extra damage. Then points into warp for biotic combos and a way to deal with armor.

I agree, I don't like taking warp ammo either. I've only played a Sentinel at this point, but I like either Liara/Vega or Liara/Kaidan.

Vega is actually a really good character. I like incendiary ammo over all other ammo types because of the panic aspect given how many common enemies only have health bars, and I think armor is a bigger problem (at least for me) than barrier/shield right now, given how powerful overload can be. Carnage is awesome as well and can combo for a explosive effect coupled with incendiary ammo, making him a really good option for crowd control, similar to biotic detonations.

To me it seems that the squadmates that can out right demolish armor are more valuable in this game and I'm liking Vega the most.

Chrisnabal could you tell me what Shredder Ammo Mod does? Does it help with armor but reduce the damage by 50% or does it reduce the damage by 50% on only the shots that bypass armor? This is really bothering me.

I'm sorry I don't know what the shredder mod is. Do you mean the piercing mod? That one reduces damage if you shoot through cover only and it does go through armor to some extent.

I've been using mostly the stability & damage mods on my assault rifle.

Edit: ah yes, the shredder mod is the piercing mod, sorry about that. It does not reduce all weapon damage, it allows you to shoot through light cover and when you do, only those shots have reduced damage. It does somewhat bypass armor as well.

A fully upgraded Graal Spike Thrower is the best shotgun, if you ask me. It kills a cannibal with one shot, and it takes two to take down a marauder and is very accurate (for a shotgun). The downside is the low clip size (three shots per clip), but I'd take it over any other.

Plasma shotgun with damage mod and clip increase mod has max power, holds loads of ammo and 5 shots per reload. It doesn't get much better than that. You can even shoot long range if target is static (or big).

I use wraith... main reason is weight. I have 200% recharge bonus while using it so I can chain nova's and charge without shooting unless I have to and when I do it, still hits like a freight train.
