From the sounds of things they are slowly working through the long list of pre-orders, checking off e-mails with their 'dispatched' notice, all ready so they can send out courier service via Parcelforce24 on Thursday to GUARANTEE delivery on Friday. Everyone is being upgraded to courier service so obviously they will hold off til Thursday so they can obey the law. They wont send out this 1st class service early knowing we'll get the game one or two days before release date. I guess it's illegal for them to do so.

The reason why people occasionally get games early is cuz 2nd class service often takes 2-5 days, therefore they dispatch early to increase chance of delivery on the release day. In this case, they know it's going to be guaranteed next day delivery, so they will send out on Thursday.

Replace "illegal" with "breach of contract" and i agree...

I think I may be popping home from work early on Friday... Image IPB

What's the point of pre-ordering if you don't get it early?

OldhamaA, for the bonuses. Extra reward points, guaranteed copy, and some game bonusses (like the rings). Sometimes the price is cheaper when you pre-order. Getting the game early is often just a bonus and luck.

Other than pre-order bonuses and guaranteeing you get a copy on release day, there is no point to pre-ordering...

Oh and pre-loading for digital downloads of course...

To be honest, unless I want to play a download game on release day or I want a physical copy of a game that I know will be popular, I never bother with pre-orders...

Well, unfortunately, it seems that game are releasing the Dragon Age pre-orders tomorrow, so that parcelforce can deliver said pre-orders of Dragon Age on time for Friday.

I think for the next pc game I buy I will either buy it and download via Steam or just buy from my local Game store. This waiting for Game to actually despatch my pre-order of Dragon Age is frustrating.

My package arrived today and my parents decided to go out shopping even though I had pretty much begged them to keep an eye on it. Now it says to wait 48 hours before collection from a local depot (although we will see if its there tomorrow). Words can not describe how furious I am.

Well My game should hopefully Arrive Tomorrow. The Parcel Tracking says that it was sorted at the hub, and has an expected delivery date of tomorrow ... I can only hope!
EDIT: Oh, and do you have to actually be in to take the package from the couriers? Because there is no-one in my house during normal delivery times ...

My parcel tracking still gives no information. I presume that means that it hasn't been picked up yet. If we have to sign for parcelforce express deliveries, I'm screwed unless it arrives tomorrow, as the house will be empty on Friday.

What happens if you miss them? Can you collect from a depot during the weekend, or do you have to wait until ... MONDAY?

I phoned Game today and was told only the collectors sets were sent with Parcel force. The normal ones were sent first class royal mail. So they will not be held up and should come next day as normal.

This will depend on country and... well, on the one delivering.
I know that it is custom here to bring it to a post office and leave a note behind if they are not home (Note saying they can pick it up any coming workday). I have only had this once though, as most mailmen simply give it to the neighbors if you are not home... Though most of the games I've ordered this far would just fit in the mailbox anyway.

Uk and Parcel Force. I would have thought It would go through the Letter Box, but the person who posted above me said they came round and he missed it ...

Hello - have you guys gone for the special edition?!

I'm considering picking it up, but it's pretty pricey, and I'm also considering the guide.
