...This is a weird issue. 

My PS3 version of ME3 can't connect to EA servers and thus freezes at the intro screen, despite the fact that I:

* Have a working internet connection (that every other PS3 game and service recognizes.)
* Have an EA Online Pass, successfully downloaded the Pass and installed it. 

This issue not only makes ME3 unplayable for me on the PS3; it also freezes my PS3 and requires a hard reboot every time it happens. 

Addendum: I also own the PC version of ME3, which suffers a similar problem but has an easier fallback 'solution.' When I load the PC version of ME3, I likewise receive an automated error message, but I can then manually sign in to my EA Origin account, which works fine.

Same here. I guess it wasn't a problem on my side after all.

But I was able to do it with Dragon Age II when I downloaded the patch about ten minutes ago.

It worked, quit the game and went back in.

Ugh, it's stuck at 'connecting', no option to stop trying.

This game has to many problems, me2 ps3 didn't have this much problems

Okay, to get past it, I literally unplugged my modem, waiting for an error message to finally take me off of the 'connecting to EA server' screen, then plugged it back in and tried again, and it worked.

ME2-PS3 was based off a game that already had numerous patches available. That's why.

Mass Effect 3 is fresh for all platforms.

It hung for me for the first two times. I quit and re-entered the game and it worked fine on the third try. Hope that helps.

Seems this happens to PC version as well. I've been stucked at connecting screen for 10 min by now and it's still communicating.

This just happened to me. I was able to press the PS button on my controller, quit game, restarted, and issue went away.

Yeah I noticed this too. Just got my copy of the game, and wanted to make sure it worked before I went to work. I'll try again when I get home.
