There are plenty of other
threads pointing out how bad the ending is, this is not about that.
But one of the arguments I see is “The cycle is broken, we are
given hope for our future!”
Oh that's nice, really it is,
but uhm... Who made the Crucible? I'm pretty sure that someone had to
make it. The cycle is not just Reapers harvesting the galaxy every so
few years. The cycle is everything. What we observe in mass effect is
just the bend around the corner, in the night, in the rain, in the
fog, inside a tunnel--
My point is, what we think is "breaking the
cycle", is really just a part of it. With time there will be another
Crucible and then another Shepard. The cycle must continue.
"The Cycle is Broken!" - Is not a good ending.
