I played through the final part twice, once destroying the reapers and once controlling them. Both times my final cut scene ended with the shuttle door about to open then darkness. Nobody stepping out. Plus I saw Ashley, who was in my team during the final mission laying dead as I limped toward the citadel beam. What did I do to cause this and how can I replay without making such mistakes?
Question regarding the ending.

did seem kind of weird that one of the squadmates that was running with me to the beam ended up on the planet at the end, when I picked the red ending. weird.

yeah what is up with that. If they were well enough to get back on the ship and walk around, WHY WERE THEY NOT HELPING ME GET TO THE BEAM!?
