I kind of misspoke. Charge nova is still great against them, but you do have to keep moving on top of that, you can just hang out by them like you can against most enemies. And it does bother me that Shepard can't use biotics during cutscenes (LotSB was awful about this).lolerk53 wrote...
I just stay at the backside of the banshees.
After I charge I nova in the direction of her back, charge at her back, nova, charge, nova.
I keep strafing left and right, it confuses them.
In cutscenes with a lot of enemies im like "Shepard, just charge and insta win this! <_<"
By the way, what are you talking about with the geth primes?
When I use it I'm like "yeah guys keep talking, im totally hearing you" and I dont even see what enemys I kill.
lol
The geth primes... it's near the end of the last quarian-geth mission. Not saying where because no spoilers. But I found myself getting destroyed while trying to keep back and play it safe, yet when I went crazy offense, they kept trying to melee me or chase me or whatever, instead of blowing me to pieces with their crazy guns.

1. Get the revenant assault rifle. Give it stability and extra capacity upgrades.
2. Get some ammo bonus
3. Get fortification as your bonus power. Max it. It's good defence.
4. Kite the banshee around from cover to cover and shoot it to pieces.

Alternately, level up a vanguard and just smash them in the face repeatedly. Charge is the best power ever, hands down.
EDIT: I'll be more serious. Use powers to take down her barrier first. Upgraded overload can do this, for example. Once you've got them down and you're continually damaging her, she'll probably stop teleporting. Then you just unload everything you've got in her face. Equip armor-piercing or incendiary ammo if you've got it, keep using powers, and just shoot until she's dead.
Honest truth, I'd rather actually have to fight all five hundred or how many ever there are brutes in the big Tuchanka mission than fight a handful of banshees. Brutes became surprisingly easy to me toward the end of the game.

or on the final fight, just try and position the Banshees in the way of the reaper beam and tolololol to victory.

I'm like 3/4ths of the way through the game too.

You have to beat the game and then it unlocks for your next playthrough. At least that's what happened with me.
@OP
Shoot at it until it dies, that usually works.

2. Fire on it from long range at first if you can until it manages to get in close.
3. Switch to a closer range gun like an assault rifle or shotgun and don't stay in melee range if you can help it. Ideally you want to be at medium range at the most so you can dodge her range attack by diving to the side.
4. Never get into cover when the banshee(s) are close unless it is about to do it's AOE pulse attack.
