If you gave it to him in the 2nd one, what goes on in the 3rd one with that? I played mass effect 2 multiple times but I could never give it to him (felt wrong lol) Is the story drastically different in the 3rd one?

From what I understand, it changes what critical parts you recieve after finding TIM's base and completing that mission. Keeping the base makes it easier for you to get the synergy and control endings. Destroying the base makes that harder, but not anywhere near impossible.

I destroyed the base but somehow he still got the human reaper to his main base.

In reality, im not expecting it to change anything in a major way. Seems to be the same with everything else.

I destroyed the base and got the Synergy ending... on my first play through.. It took me a couple to figure out how resolve enough points to get my "No Man Left Behind"..

LoL dude, it changes exactly nothing. The only difference is that you require slightly more war assets to get another ending, and less war assets for another one.

It really does not matter as long as you are over 1500 galactic readyness or so.

Changes nothing. Maybe a difference of about 10 EMS points.

This is a very odd necro. Thanks for answering anyways. I assume the OP already had their answer, by the way.

If you don't have enough EMS, Destroy/Control are the only choice available to you depending on whether you destroyed/saved the CB.

Did not know that.

Giving TIM the base gives you a higher starting EMS (as far as I know)

Lol nope. Regardless of you completely annihilating the Collector Base with a gigantic explosion that nearly eats the Normandy, Cerberus still finds parts of the baby Reaper and TIM, being such a genius, sticks it in his lounge.

problem is, IF they did something epic with it, then you'd get half of BSN up in arms about "missing out on content" blah blah blah so Bioware just said screw it and made it pointless.

Now, are people just not seeing the original posting date and the dozen or so comments posted before theirs or are they sincerely trying to be helpful here?

I'll give you that. There was almost a thirty minute period without anyone posting except for this thread.

It only has a major impact if you complete the game with very low EMS.

In that case you'll only have one ending choice available to you, and your ending choice will be determined by what you chose to do with the Collector Base. If you Destroyed the Collector Base in ME2, only Destroy will be available. If you kept the Collector Base, only Control will be available.

In high EMS playthrough the Collector Base decision doesn't have much impact. In either case, Cerberus salvages a piece of the human Reaper and uses it to power TIM's base. The only difference is that for Destroyers it is a different part of the Reaper. If the base was kept, the Reaper part powering TIM's base is described as being the Reaper's 'brain,' if the base was destroyed it is described as being the Reaper's 'heart.'
