Every objective reviewer should deduct one star for the Fade Prison.

Still, it was better than every other dungeon in the game because at least it was different than "short hallways connecting small rooms full of enemies oh look a conversation that groups all my characters into the center of the room as enemies swarm around me" x 20

The only critisism I would have is I hope for future romps through the Fade in Dragon Age products is that I wish it was even MORE surreal.

Thought it was one of the best parts of the game, really enjoyed the tactics of using the various forms.
I agree, it was creative and interesting tactically.
It did take some time to figure out what was going on the first time but I'm sure it would be quicker on future playthroughs.

Orzammar was the only part of the game that I didn't enjoy and am not looking forward to revisiting what was a tedious part of the game for me, a second time.

Unfortunately, I agree. I won't be able to play through multiple times without some very intriguing mods.

After you know your way around the place it definitely becomes a boring chore, but it doesn't really take you THAT long.
I find the Deep Roads to be a hell of a lot more boring and frustrating, mainly because I do not enjoy cavernous levels and because that place is probably the hardest segment in the game.

It also makes no sense that your character can fail the gauntlet puzzle over and over ... so it is nothing but a time sink.

Dreamland might look better and with less dodecaphonic track since there are good spirits in the fade too... perhaps not in that particular part of it though... but a demon's illusion would look and sound better to try keeping dwellers under control... The Matrix had it perfected for their sleeping batteries...

You know I consider the Dalish part to be the most boring part of the game filled with boring and annoying characters, obnoxious antagonists (I want to CUT SWIFTRUNNER'S TONGUE OUT AND RAM IT DOWN HIS EYESOCKETS), and a long and dull dungeon.
But you don't hear me demanding to skip it.
I actually liked the Dalish part. Admittedly the snarling speech of the werewolves grates after a while but all in all it's fun.
I wouldn't mind if they made it possible at the first meeting to convince Swiftrunner you want to talk though. Like a really high Persuade or Intimidate check something like.
[Persuade] I just want to talk, I was told you were mindless beasts but I see that's not true if there's a peaceful way to resolve this I'd like to try.
[Intimidate] Either take me to your leader or I will burn this forest to the ground, kill you, and use your pelt as a blanket.

I must admit, this is my least favorite part of the game, if there was a way to bypass it, I would do so in a heartbeat.
Bypassing it and losing extra stats would be fair traid off if there would be that option, that said i did enjoy that fade experience.

I agree to some extent, it does seem a bit silly that you have to go through the 'slaughtering of their kind' before they give the 'parley' option, but then again I actually think the Dalish part is one of the shortest if not the shortest.
Fade prison, first time I went through I didn't realise how easy it was to do the fights in the various forms and so I had my human noble warrior princess beating on golems in normal combat (I was on easy at the time), granted it gave me more xp/kill than 2nd runthrough with my elf mage whom I used the forms (mainly golem) to CLOBBER the opponents into submission.
I found the fade frustrating on first runthrough but as others have said, once you know the lay of the land and what you need to do it becomes like all the other areas. I actually found the Orzammar section to be the longest and the Deep Roads more of a timesink, but as your fighting Darkspawn for the most part, it has its relevance.
With regards the above suggestion about the Dalish part, as someone else has said, it possibly could be nice if something similar was given for both the sloth demon and also that camp in the Brescillian Forest. I don't think I've yet tried walking away from that camp after the 1st check, so can't confirm if you can actually walk away from it without getting into the fight, if you can, then surely it should be possible that if you did that before the Circle Tower someone with a high willpower should get a check where can say "I ain't feeling sleepy, prepare to die demon!".
I know one of the key things about the Fade Prison is obviously Niall telling you about the scrolls, but surely if you kill the demon in the tower you should still be able to find the scrolls anyway?
Am not fussy about the Prison myself and looking forward to doing it again in future playthroughs, just think the option should be there for certain characters (or those that really detest it that much).
Main reason I like the prison is Golem form, makes me want to scream out "ITS CLOBBERING TIME" or "HULK!!! SMASH!!!"
Also part of me wishes there was an option at the Anvil of the Void for you to be turned into a Golem

Second time, it was easy and quick... Give Fade-Prison a second chance. All that "free" status bonus is great and turning into a Golem and Hulking Smash Ogres is fun. (Well at least to me).
