Mmm... not really, Svests. The problem is that FTL travel outside of relays varies from (depending on who you ask) about 25x to 200x the speed of light. The milky way is approximately 100-120 thousand light years across.

The Quarian homeworld is roughly two thirds of the way across the galaxy from Earth, or about 75,000 light years. At worst, it would take about 3000 years for the Quarians to get home, at best, about 375 years. The turians are far closer - maybe 20% of a galactic diameter - making their homeworld a comparatively close 800 to 100 years away.

No, the best shot for re-establishing galactic civilization isn't with "hoofing it" via regular FTL travel, it's with researching and building a set of relays, pointing them at the known locations of other homeworlds, and praying that the species on the other either fix theirs or build their own to open a bridge.

Its actually much much faster than that.  Conventional Alliance FTL can travel about 12 lightyears per day.  This means that those 75,000 lightyears for the Quarians would take about 17 years.  They have spent 300+ years on their ships, I don't think 17 more is going to kill them.  For the Turians it would be more like 5 years.

17 years to get from Earth to Rannoch..... if you have an infinite supply of fuel and plenty of places to discharge your drive along the way.

I think there is a major difference between living in a big space fleet....and having a civilian part at Rannoch, and a decimated and almost destroyed military fleet stuck at Earth.

I didn't see any liveships at the battle and that's where the Quarian food was made. If the liveships were there, there's a possibility. If not, there isn't and Team-dextro die.

That's what I thought. Which leads to no Dextro-food for The Turians or Quarians. So even assuming they could FTL their way back to their planet, no way their supplies would last,.
