Hi,
I have Mass Effect 3 PC which I received and installed today from CD. I installed it to D:BioWare which is where I also have Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age. D is a TB hard drive and C is an overflowing 200gb so I run all my games from D.
I can't save! I can import my Mass Effect 2 character just fine, but even though I can access the "save" menu, nothing happens. Clicking "save game" does nothing and clicking "create new save file" does nothing. When I go to "load game" there's no autosave there, despite two hours of play. I checked the options menu and autosave is on.
I tried running it as a new character without the ME2 import and I still can't save. I tried repairing from the CD and I still can't save. I tried to uninstall entirely so that I could install it on C, and uninstall deosn't work. When I go to control panel > uninstall ME3 it tells me that the EA uninstaller has stopped working and could not be fixed.
Does anyone have a suggestion how I can fix this? I'm desperate to play but there's no point in playing when I'll just have to restart tomorrow morning.
I am running Windows 7 on a desktop, btw.
Thanks.
Can't save!

I just (this afternoon) managed to get it working. What I did was:
- Installed Mass Effect onto D (secondary, larger hard drive) - at this point it didn't work.
- Registered my copy of ME3
- Uninstalled ME3 AND Origin
- Reinstalled Origin
- Reinstalled ME3, allowing it to default to C even though C is almost full
- Downloaded update (new today)
After that I had the problem that I could SAVE but not load the saves. So then:
- I right-clicked on my desktop icon and selected properties.
- At the end of the masseffect3.exe target location I added -nohomedir, so it looked like "........ .exe" - nohomedir
Now it works! And as an added bonus it still found my ME2 import in D, even though it's being run entirely from C now.

I have the exact same problem. Installed the game on drive E:, MyDocuments folder is on Drive F:.
When I click "save" in the game, it says "saving", but when I click "load" there is nothing. Funnily enough the game found my ME2 savegames to be imported automatically in the MyDocuments folder. Go figure...
Really don't want to try NewStrings' solution. There must be something better than that,
Solved it adding "-nohomedir" to the path in the start menu shortcut, as someone suggested in another thread. That way it creates a subfolder for the saves in the game's installation folder.
