So, I can't start the multiplayer mode. Once I clicked multiplayer, the game showed me the N7 Special Ops screen, pc locked up, only way to shutdown PC was power button.
Second try, same thing on class screen, power button?
What's happening? This only happens in Mass Effect 3, system is rock solid. Oh, and I finished single player, 30 hours, not a single crash!
Btw, did I miss anything from the Special Ops screen to the class screen? I couldn't even press continue...
Multiplayer locks up PC

I've tried the usual (re-installing the game, installing other AMD drivers...) and it still locks up.
I have no ideia on how to fix this : /

Some Unreal Games have problems with the Realtek HD Audio. Maybe try disabling that and give it a go if you have Realtek audio?

I'm having the same problem. I start up multiplayer and it gets to a screen where I assume I'm choosing my character. It freezes and the sound goes fuzzy, and the only thing I can do is shut down my computer. I emailed tech support and tried all their suggestions but none of them worked. I'm reinstalling the game now to see if that will work... also because updating my game made it so I can't even start the game anymore. I hope there's a fix for this cause I'd really like to try multiplayer.

It's the Windows audio sample rate! Changing it from my default 16-bit, 48000 Hz to 16-bit, 44100 Hz fixed my issue!
Thank you for the suggestion NeuAscension!
I'm sure it's the same fix for you, fillerxbunny, my sound also went "fuzzy".
For reference, I'm running:
Windows 8 Consumer Preview
IDT High Definition Audio (Driver Version: 6.2.8250.0)

Thank you both! I didn't have the exact same problem as you, Seketh, but it was my Realtek sound. I didn't realize my drivers were very out of date. Updating them fixed the issue completely yay! Thanks again, I never would have thought it was my audio without this thread.
