I was really hoping he would pull a Grunt and survive in the end, but when the Shoud exploded I knew he didn't make it. The explosion behind him actually felt like a punch to the gut.

He was one of my favorite characters in ME2, too. :(

Curse you, Bioware, curse youuuuu...

Im just glad they had him sing. Right before he did I was like "man... there goes the Normandy's best choir member." then he did, and I "teehee'd", then he died :(

His death had meaning.
It was sad, but enjoyable.
Unlike the ending.

Ok, I saw the youtube videos of Mordin singing his last song.

But I didn't have Mordin sing in my playthrough!? (Maybe because I didn't have him sing in my ME2 save?)

He went up, braved the fires, brush aside the sabotage with an amused quib, and prepared the cure without hesitation.

And instead of having his song interrupted by the explosion, Mordin made a final statement before the explosion.
"A new beginning. For all of us."

Somehow, I like it.  Grief and loss was soothed over with hope.

I actually hated Mordin in ME2, so I thought this decision (if Wrex survives, then Wrex will die instead, if you don't cure the genophage) would be an easy one.

Yet, when Mordin's cutscene leading up to his death played, it made me sad. :(

I thought Mordin was annoying, and I hate all the krogan. So it was hard for me, I had to think who I hate more. I hate krogan more, but I came to the conclusion that Krogan would be more beneficial to the war. Until I got to the ending and realized the Krogan weren't important to the war, no one was............

Mordin's death is a good example of a tragic close to a story arc that actually works, rather than one that is totally contrived and meaningless like some OTHER endings I might know about. But let's not talk about that - the wound is still too fresh.

Mordin was amazing, easily one of my favorite characters in the franchise, and his end was fitting.

R.I.P.

If only the ending of the game was that awesome and not so nonsensical.

I liked Mordin's death, I mean, not because I enjoyed seeing him die but because it was touching, meaningful and had an impact on me, and he went out like a champ.
I watched how he goes out if you choose to betray him and that's just as awesome, even if it's a whole lot more depressing.

Add me to the list of tearful folks. What gets me is that I somehow didn't see it coming until he pointed to the elevator. Of course he was going to die like this...

cried my eyes out

i cried a lot in this game

and laughed a lot.

i am normally very detached, cynical...i have laughed at games...i have never cried

even while i was crying, i was like "its just a stupid game..." but i couldn't stop crying.

"Had to be me, some one else might have gotten it wrong"

;_;!!!!!!!!!!

Easily one of my favorite characters ever. I cried when he died. But it was perfectly done. Had to be him. Someone else might get it wrong.

I try not to think about the last ten minutes.

Shep gets sucked up in the beam, then i close my eyes and the theme from reading rainbow starts playing in my head.

Best moment in the game, in pretty much any game. I was real close to shedding a few tears. Of course, the ending completely sours even that amazing scene.

I'm definitely going to have to try this. Maybe Reading Rainbow can soothe the pain of the last 10 minutes.

The whole End the Genophage mission was incredible. The final battle epic animation and Mordin's death totally in context and heroic. This in contrast to the game ending with the whole battle for earth being just dull and boring and the final ending incomplete and meaningless.
