Should have been a Poll but I don't know how to do one.
So do you:

Love it?
Like it?
It's OK?
Dislike it?
Hate it?

I'd like to know how it is here in the Owners Only forum since in the free forum everybody hates it.:?

The consensus you're likely to see here is that "first 99% of the game is amazing, last 1% is absolutely terrible."

ME3, minus the last 5 minutes, was a tour de force. It was a love letter to ME1, while keeping all the stuff ME2 improved. I teared up several times, and I've never, ever felt that way about a freakin' video game before. High points include getting back together with Ashley, curing the genophage, ad-hoc target practice on the presidium with Garrus, retaking Rannoch and establishing peace between the Geth and Quarians, walking in on Tali and Garrus in the forward battery, talking to everyone before starting the final London mission.

A feeling of finality and saying goodbye, no matter what happens, permeates this game (5 years in the making, if you brought your Shep along from ME1) It's a very powerful feeling.

Then the ending craps all over it.

This. It was amazing, right up until it ripped my heart out in the last five minutes.

Absolutely. Weren't it for the endings, this may as well be one of the best games Bioware ever made. The only real other flaw, except the depressing endings, is too much autodialogue.

Ah, that's nice to hear (but not about the ending). On the free forum they say it's 99% bad. <_< Bu then again, off everybody who claim to have played it and hate it, no one have the game (or any other Bioware game) registered but say they own it and just didn't wan't to register the game or did it with another account.^_^

Myself I agree with you. I don't know about the ending because I'm not there yet but the rest I love. It's a good hybrid of ME1 and ME2 taking the best of the games.

The game itself is great. They almost finished the series in a great, great way. Then the ending pops up and ruins the whole series instead.

The ending was... rough. I don't think it was terrible, but it was very emotional for me, and less satisfying than I'd hoped (mainly because, come on, who didn't want the super-happy everybody lives kind of ending?). But the rest of the game was absolutely awesome (the twists and turns in the major missions were very well executed, and most were quite unexpected!), and I don't think the ending "ruined" everything. It's fine.

Also, inb4 the flood of fix fics to "fix" the ending.

Except the endings - GOTY 2012. So fix the endings, BioWare, so I can play it again!

Glad to see I'm not the only one raging about the crappy ending to the game. I was hoping all this time and all that work I put into replaying the first two games would result in very different endings. Game's great, but man the ending made me kinda wanna hang myself =<

well, it was sure as hell fun to play. and i can see my self staying for the multiplayer. i would LIKE to replay the single player, but im trying to figure out how after that ending just craps on not only the 50 hours it takes to get to it, but the 5 years of HUGE time ive invested in the series.

YES!  I was absolutely in love with the game until the last few minutes.  Even seeing characters like Thane and Mordin die seemed like the appropriate amount of sadness because they were content with their lives thanks to Shepard, and it's to be expected that some sacrifices would be made.  Then we get things like stranding Tali on an unknown world even though I just gave her the chance to build a home on Rannoch.

So yeah, I liked the rest enough that I will play it again, but I hated the last bit enough that I'll probably just stop right after Anderson dies.

Just do what I'm going to do.  Stop at the end.  It sounds terrible, I know, but since I can point to exactly where the game fell apart, I'm going to try it.  Once Anderson dies-Game over.

Or there is my other solution: Finish it and just pretend things worked out.  If the devs can say that they think it was a satisfactory ending, then I think I'm allowed to make one up in my head.

I loved it. After all the crap, I still loved it. I was infuriated by the ending, the auto-dialogue, the bugs, the plotholes, the cheap rushed-out feel of many details...and despite all that, I'll always think of ME3 as a great game.

It's a testament to the skill of the developers that despite all the fumbling, they still managed to deliver a pretty great product.

I don't know if the autodialogue was that much of a problem, but I will agree the endings were lacking.  The endings for this game don't feel like they belong, I felt like I was no longer playing the same game, I was distanced from my character.  They wanted to change it up but it felt like they tried to make a game that did not fit in with the rest of the series, there was something lacking.  Also, changing a bit of the cinimatics and some of the colours does not make 3 seperate endings.

I know that it would have been cliche to have Shep survive but it would have fit in with the series as they already set that standard.  They made the previous games feel like old 80's and 90's action movies and did this game in a similar fashion then bam.. change it up at the last minute to something that does not belong.

Normally I have trouble finding honest problems with the stories of their games.

Overall the game is pretty damn good, but as said before, the last 5 min or so just hurt the game.

I love the game till the ending. The ending killed the game for me and any future purchases I would make with Bioware unless they patch the game endings or give awauy a free DLC that fixes the endings.

The main game was everything I hoped it would be. The end ruined the whole series for me. I can't look at 1,2 or the majority of 3 without the taint of the end. So unless something changed the whole universe is dead to me.

The game is 99.9% pure gaming bliss.

The endings, from the citadel elevator ride to the Normandy crash are absolute garbage and completely ruin the feel of the game.

I will say, I think I am in a minority when I say the after credits sequence with the Stargazer is touching and a nice treat. Even without the horrible endings it works so I say keep that (it's like saying "this is the story of the old galaxy that allowed us to survive") and I am perfectly fine with it.

It just sucks there is this one poorly written excuse for an ending between Anderson and Shepard sitting on the Citadel being successful, yet at the end of their rope. Then for some reason Bioware felt the need to tack on just one more little piece that is confusing and does mesh with the feel of the rest of the universe they created.

Pretty much what everyone else said.

To add something more substantial to that, it feels like ME3 took a more twitch combat and less tactical direction. Enemies either had way less HP/Shields/Barriers than ME2 or way more. On the one hand, dealing with the huge number of trash mobs was sort of epic, on the other hand the few boss and Siren fights were a massive **** in Insanity. And I don't mean a challenging ****, just a keep retrying and hope the boss pays attention to your squadmates while you take out the low mobs that can tear you to pieces while you run from the boss.

Personally I loved the game. I hate to fall in the category as everyone else, but I was disappointed with the ending I got. The game itself is wonderful. Plenty of intense action scenes, emotional moments and genuinly funny parts that made me laugh out loud. The combat is more than improved. It flows so much better. Besides a bit of difficulty of dodging when you want to take cover its great. All the customization from ME1 with the improved gameplay of ME2 is present. All the main war missions are epic and really exciting to play through. Its just the ending for whatever reason left a bad taste in my mouth. I love the Mass Effect series and I fully expected Shepard to come even closer to death and possible succumb to it. However it kinda just ends. No real explanation, just a vauge ending of organic life being saved. The series has been known for great characters who develop and grow. Tali for example starts as a young Quarian who eventually matures and becomes an Ambassador to her people. I wanted to know what happens to them as much as I wanted to know what happened to Shepard. You get a slight glimpse of it but nothing major. It could have been some much better.

Overall Bioware did a fantastic job on the game. I look forward to replaying it.
