I'm a big fan of Bioware. Well, I was, until DA2. I have all the games since Baldur's Gate, including both ME1 and ME2. I boycotted ME3 because of the origin exclusivity, and I can say these are the best 50 euros I've saved since the disgrace that DA2 was. I played the game to the end, got it from a friend who gave up on it after he realized he can't play with half the crew members he wanted. So, another series showed into the ground.

First up, a reality check:

http://i.imgur.com/RjBwI.jpg

- Giant plot holes, horrendeous writing that spirals out of control as you approach the end. Very, very cheesy story that appears like it has been slapped in a couple of hours.

- No neutral dialogue choices, there is just paragon+renegade, which boils down to the same thing, as you can pick either one regardless of affiliation.- Wave-based combat (HELLOOOO DA2)

- Choices in previous games have little impact, apart from the obvious deaths of squad members. There is pretty much no impact on the ending, which, by the way, is atrocious and leaves a lot to be desired.

- Only one hub in the entire game (HELLOOOOOOOOOO DA2)

- A very, very small selection of squad members, one of which is a DLC, 2 of which are mutually exclusive.- Imbecilic side quests, where you overhear someone needing an artifact on some planet, which you find during the mind-numbing planet scans  and nonchalantly drop in their lap afterwards. (HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DA2).

Honestly? I expected this. DA2 carved the path for such expectations. Bioware used to be the Illusive man, fighitng for humanity, but was ultimately twisted by EA (Reapers).

picture is 403. Also, i dont see anything wrong with the points. Sure they are debatable, but its not a gamebreaking level, just a devs choice. For example I take it you disliked the endings. This does not mean the game is bad.

Good game, i spend 30 hours to complete it, only think i dont like some graphic issues, ending with that kid, and everyone just dying, sacriface, no happy ending and didnt meet all characters from mass effect 2, good game but not EPIC

Picture works fine for me, please re-check.

Anyway. Most of the things I've mentioned are pretty much non-debatle facts. Sure, you can argue how the story may be good, although I bumped into several glaring plot holes.

But you can't argue how there's only one, very small hub. This is the definition of lazy, rushed.

Another thing is the small squad selection. ME1 had, what, 6 squad mates? Small too, but the game was just unraveling. ME2 topped off at like, what, 12? 13 with DLC, all of which had special loyalty missions.

ME3? 8 squad members. Ooops one is DLC. So 7? Nope, two are mutually exclusive. So 6 squad members? That's disgustingly low, especially considering none of them have any loyalty missions.

Which brings me up to my next point - quests have been bogged down to the lowest level possible. You overhear someone needing a turian anti-venom and you go mindlessly scanning planets until you find it and bring it back. There's nothing to debate here. These "quests" are utterly moronic, there's no engagement, nothing whatsoever good about them.

No neutral choices in dialogue? Also non-debatable.

This game is objectively a step-back in almost all areas compared to ME2.

I can see the points, what i dont see is their connection to the game. For example Skyrim has like 30 squadmates. Most marriageable, even lesbian possible. Does this make them interesting, not really, most are dull anyway. (but hot as hell regardless). Quality != quantity. In fact id argue that less is more, because in the same time period, less stuff is going to get more treatment and involvement. I would exchange 100 mindless puppets for one believable and lifelike NPC any time.

Im not saying your arguments arent valid, just that they arent that convincing, discussing mechanics, not the game itself. And based on what i heard so far, im still going to buy it, as soon as i finish me1/2.

Well, I haven´t bought the game yet even I´ve been a ME fan along with DA series. I will most likely wait for the "special price" time when the game can be acquired in a really really really low price.

DA2 really tought me a lesson about blind faith.

Wrong... I do care.

I was confused about getting ME3. I also created a thread but. I just saw this. Thanks for the info I'm not going to buy.
