Bioware, please make whoever wrote the ending of ME3 lay off the drugs.

I wanted to post a really positive review.

Because the game was awesome ... up to the end.

Probably your best game ever.

If not ... the end.

Some sort of pseudo religious/philosophical cheesy mumbo jumbo that makes no sense altogether.

Is this how you end your probably best franchise ever?

Really, I am shocked.

'The Reapers Win!' would have been better than that.

It is really hard to take you serious despite the effort and skill you obviously have put into the game.

But after the end the only thing I really feel is alot dumber than before.

If I was you I would cut the end, make a better one, patch it in and pretend this one never happened.

Because this is embarrassing.

Yes, it is embarrassing. I don't even know how this version of the game got to store shelves. It defies all logic.

The ending was BioWare's "New Coke."

All is forgiven, BioWare, if you accept that it was a colossal mistake and bring back "Mass Effect classic" with a patch or DLC.

They won't do this, Bioware devs have been saying that they are very happy with these endings (no i'm not joking) and that they're genuinely confused as to why people want something else.

I agree OP. I desperately want to love this series and want to play the games again, because they are actually good...but that ending, those last few minutes...change everything. Why would I want to play any of the games again, knowing that in the end, nothing I ever did truly mattered in the end? Totally disillusioned.

Or just add new endings for Paragon and Renegade and keep these ones as the GREY  endings. give us a chioce in our Sheppard fate. Let players have their hollywood ending. It would in the end make this ending as a choice have more of an impact. keep the relays being destryed as ME cannon of course, afterall you cant win without destroying ALL the reaper tech.

Let's get the ending straight: You are told by a child-god-thing that he doesn't want you to be killed by synthetics, so he kills you with synthetics every so often because he's cool like that. Now he says here's three choices and Shepard goes "Hey, shiny lights" and totally goes along with it.

Either this is the indoctrinated dream sequence before the DLC real endings, or BioWare has officially detached from reality.

I have no words, really. I wanted to make a lenghty post about why it is so bad, but ... I don't know where to start. If the ending would have been 'it all was just a dream' they would at least have saved face. Because it would have been disappointing but at least they would not have made themselves look stupid. And now look at this ending and think about why Bioware would think this is good or even makes sense. I have more questions than ever. And I was promised all questions will be answered. After DA2 the next game/franchise is probably ruined by Bioware's inability to write an ending. It really looks like a bad ending can ruin a good story. Because that's what happened.

I will sum up the endings.

Destroy: "I must kill the Reapers!"
Control: "No, Shepard! You ARE the Reapers!"
Synthesis: And then everyone was robots.

If I can accurately summarize your endings using Doom: Repercussions of Evil, then somewhere along the line you have made a colossal mistake.

Then enlighten me. What is the logic or sense behind the ending.

Who said this?  I know at least one Bioware employee said this, I remember reading something he posted on his twitter account along those lines.  But as far as I knew it was only one Bioware rep that said this.  And they didn't say anything about not knowing why fans are upset, at least to my knowledge.

If the Bioware employees and writers really don't see anything wrong with the ending, then that's really bad.

Really should've just gotten rid of the whole Guardian part alltogether.  Climax of the game is the face-off with TIM.  Crucible fires, kills Reapers, and then we're given an epilogue to show the effects of our decisions.

Oh, and lose the ending with the grandfather telling the story.  Or at least make it an optional ending, or something.

While I'd be right there with you, they won't ever fix anything story-wise.  Technical stuff is all that gets patched, and indications are that any DLC will be before the ending.

I don't really understand how they could have thought that these endings were good.  I would have personally been satisfied if just ended with the seen of Shep and Anderson sitting there watching.  Perhaps throw in the Reapers retreating/being destroyed.  Honestly, I think the next time I play (the rest is too good not to) I'll just stop at that scene and fill the rest in with my mind.

As for the devs "not understanding" why people are upset, I'm curious how much of that is coming at it from a business sense.  If they openly said that it was a bad ending, those that haven't bought the game might not ever get it.  Then again, they did give us tthese endings to begin with, so maybe they really do think that they were good.

I don't claim that I could have come up with anything better since I'm no creative writer, but I'd like to think that I could at least have been able to say, "No, that sounds terrible from a player perspective."

I think the narration is simple excelent till you reach the end.

Companions dying? They do so in a way that contributes to the plot just like Kaidan/Ashley in ME1.

Nasty stuff happening? Sure! It´s the way it should be!

Sheppard dying? Why not?

But damn, I want to see the companion I romanced crying, I wanted to be declared honorary Krogan, I want the Geth to remember me and Legion as the ones who awakened them, I want the batarians to recognize me as the only worthy human...

It´s weird that only with some posters and writtings, Bioware archived much more in Dragon Age: Origins than here.

And well, if you guys developed some OUTSTANDING dialogues (the date with Garrus is simply great, Tali drunk was excelent too and many many more), don´t tell me you can´t give us a better ending, even if Sheppard does not survive.

Heck, the Dallas thing where JR woke up and it was all a dream is better and makes more sense.

But... he's 100% correct. Saying that ME3 is plotless is completely incorrect...

if you want to take away something from that tweet look at how he acknowledges that the poster may have issues with some things ( gee wonder what?)

Given BW's history of making good endings (with the exception of DA2 maybe), I'm blown away that they either didn't manage or didn't care to polish the ending(s) for this, the final game in the trilogy. Not to mention, depressed as hell after seeing it three times. FF13-2's ending was a serious downer; never thought BW would pull something similar. Main character dies, no closure. Only questions with no answers.

The game is super-fun enough that I want to replay...except now I know what the ending is like. It seriously detracts from the replay value as well.

Please, just take our money and patch in some (good) endings.

Agree to OP. The game was awesome until the ending which was a big chaotic mess. I'm not angry just being extremely confused. Secondly, the ending left no room for ME4. Where are they suppose go after that forward or backward. It feels like whoever wrote the ending wanted to prank us fans.

Agreed. Part of the problem is that the plot for ME3 is so good, only for it to not matter at all in the ending.

I actually kind of enjoyed some aspects of these endings. The avatar of Order was interesting, but I felt it wasn't explained enough to make sense. And then the Normandy (supermassive plot hole as it is) is a cool addition...to the worst-case scenario endings only.

The 'good' endings are just too similar to the 'bad' endings.

I personally dislike it most because it ends the Mass Effect universe with a bit too much finality. Everything changes, and nearly everyone is dead.

i really waited this game. And after the first two, I trusted you, Bioware. Really. And Everything was good in the beginning, but the ending is terrible! I just can't believe it this is how you imagined the ending of a great trilogy. The entire Mass effect universe is fantastic, and it was build on a believable world. The histroy, the technology, everything! And in the end you gave us a god-like child? Every choice what I made doesn't matter. The same ending not one, but 3 times! Oh it's much more fun!
Where is the happy end? Why can't I just have a great ending, with all the characters I care about? Why did you bring back Shepard from the dead in the beginnig of Mass Effect 2? So you could kill him/her in the third one? and we don't even have a chance to survive??? It's absolutly not good. It's frustrating, deppressing, and i just can not understand why???
And I am really disappointed in you BW, and in the game too.

I know you never will correct this unbelievable endings you made in here, but maybe there is one last lighting candle in the darkness, which could give us disappointed funs a white hope, that you will considere to create a new ending in a DLC. But in this hopeless times, It's never gonna happen.
I am very sad about this. :(
