Just another (former) customer herby letting you know that I won't be buying any future EA games beause I  have recently switched to buying all my games over Steam.

As for my reasoning why I do buy over Steam but not Origin

EA: Has a Story of shutting down servers, denying people access to their old DLC, banning access to games over forum ban (don't care if this was cause by incompetence or really desired).

Valve: Seems to be much more trustworthy than EA.

Also I'm not going to spread my Credit Card and Personal Information to yet another company, especially not one I don't trust. Plus I'm not willing to install even more crapware (Origin) on my system. I don't want to end up with 8 Store Applications one day, so I draw the line at 1.

To sum it up:
1. Put your games on Steam or you won't get any money from me Q_Q.
2. I don't care why you refuse to sell on Steam. See #1.

Note:
I already had problems with EAs horrible and BUGGED activation mechanism for DA2 (it took me about 3 hours to get that game working because of some bug in your stupid activation mechanism that did NOT install corretly. Every god damn p2p user probably was enjoying his game after download while I as customer had to figure out how to get your stupid activation tool to actually unlock my legal copy - thanks again for that btw.). Not going to give EA another chance with yet another stupid activation mechanism they designed / implemented.

RANTING:
- Online Distribution surely is the way of the future, but I definately hope Origin fails horribly (= costs EA lots of money compared to distributing over steam).
- Almost all DLC (not limited to EA) ever mad has an extremly bad Cost / Content ratio (and usually sucks). So I also hope that in the near future people will finally see this and stop buying blatant rip-off DLC.
- I hope EA continues to make a net loss and does not break even this year for being such customer unfriendly bunch of people ;).

Edit:
This is not supposed to start a discussion (in which some smartass soon will annoy me by writing "you'll buy it anyway"). Just letting EA know they will NOT get any more money from me.

IF YOU REFUSE TO BUY GAMES WITH/FROM ORIGIN THEN LET EA KNOW.

Thanks and have a nice day.

The funniest part about this thread is no one who reads this board is in anyway involved with the decisions of where EA publishes their games. And frankly, EA'd probably rather not have your money than deal with people who really think Valve is more trustworthy than EA. You know, since they can revoke your entire game catalog for any reason, where EA just didn't let you post on the forums. Pot, meet kettle.

I doubt anything will be changed with my post, but I'll also be content with watching ME3 endings in a letsplay ME3 video.

As for your post
- EA also reserves the right to terminate Origin access at any point without reason. So EA is hardly any better with a history of being worse
- There are more persons than just me that refuse to use origin

Also EA most definitely wants to do business with everyone they can get money from without caring whether he likes/hates them. They'd sell to a dog wearing a monkey suit if it makes them money. Just like any game company.

Also AFAIK Steam has not tried to pull of the 'No class Action Lawsuit' crap in their EULA yet. A company trying to dodge those sure is less trustworthy than a company allowing a class Action Lawsuit (and once valve goes there they are still the lesser evil).

So you basically admit that Steam is just as bad as Orgin, but still stick with it since you somehow think Valve is more trustworthy than EA. They may not be as determined as EA to wrangle every last cent out of you (probably because they're the most profitiable company in the world in terms of income per employee), but they are still very much a faceless corperation. Just because there are more people that refuse to use Orgin has no relevance at all, see Steam's launch. Orgin will come around too with time, but having others agree with you does not in and of itself make you more credible. It may or may not be worth EA's time to do business with you. If you're constantly making support cases and other complaints, it probably isn't worth it. But sure, why wouldn't any company sell to someone who dislikes them if it makes them money? I mean, you're just describing capitalism here.

Sorry dude, but you've got some serious learning to do if you think EA is that much worse than Valve. You might have a case with Activision/Ubisoft, but it's really a stretch with EA which has made a ton of progress with not just being the gaming version of AT&T. At least with the whole forum banning denying game access scandal, EA was willing to work with people. If Steam bans you, you have no recourse whatsoever, especially since they're a privately held company. You're likely not to find too many sympathetic ears here though, considering where here is.

But really, if you wanted actual ownership of your games, you'd buy the physical copy in the first place. So your argument is really moot.

Yes because we ALL know that Reddit is the most legit place to get info from... Wasnt that the place that stalked a Bioware writter without proof or cause? uuuuuu i hit a nerve there i reckon.

Bottom line is that i agree with the OP, i have all my series on Steam of ME and i AM a loyal supporter of this IP but i will not EVER use origin for i see it as a platform thats constricts its user and i dont like companies of any type forcing me to choose something, by default i dont enter the "love waggon", i like my freedom and will always defend it as i did as a soldier. Also, and THIS is the thing that confuses me the most, by taking ME3 from steam or GOG or any other distributor they are BASICLY making a non sell, its like EA wants to loose sells just to make people use origin, as its a an "acceptable loss" of revenue in contrast with origin use. Its a lie. The numbers they used so much its from the demos which, ARE FREE. I use the OP's thread in a lighter "highjacking mode" to explain that this isnt working Bioware, you should try and convince EA to jump again on the Steam, and others digital distribuitors waggon for these are LOST SALES! For the lenght of time that ME3 is ONLY usable by Origin i WILL NOT buy it, and im not alone on this, at least 5 of my friends are in the same situation all because of Origin. We admit that the game is amazing (i personally have seen it being played on Xbox and want it for PC desperatly but then i'm faced with Origin which makes it a non sale by default), and as all loyal fans (I AM A LEGAL OWNER OF ME1 AND ME2 ON STEAM BY THE WAY!) want the oportunity to give our money to those that made this amazing game, yes you heard me right i WANT TO GIVE YOU MONEY but because of the restriction of a platform i dont like and will never use, wont betray my principles and "eventually get origin". It just wont happen and that makes me a non sale.

EA may thing this is acceptable but i dont thing Bioware does, because as with any bussiness you want sells, you want profit. This is not working like that, you're limitating sales to one platform, this is not a working profitable bussiness model.

From a LOYAL fan.

Seriously I'm not getting in to a discussion about Steam vs. EA/origins. That said, it is without question a shame that M3 doesn't launch on Steam. Thousands of players have no doubt, as I myself, been anticipating the launch. I'm not really mad, but very disappointed and perhaps slightly annoyed. I realise there has to be a very good reason for this, but it will have to be VERY good. No matter what's the reason, and who is to blame, countless gamers are becoming victims here. Gamers, which Bioware and EA depends on to buy their games. I've never heard of a company, which makes it more complicated or inconvenient to purchase their products. At best, it makes no sense...

I agree 100% CupolaOne, makes no sense to throw away sales by putting a product limited only to one seller, it goes againts basic comercial logic. It also makes no sense in my mind WHY EA likes to make it dificult for gamers to buy their games in the first place, its like they think we will relent (which we wont) and use Origin eventually (which will not happen) just because they want it to pass, using archaic comercial tactics.

This forum is for discussion of the BioWare online merchandise store.

End of line.
