Best game ever, until the last 5 minutes. I'm sticking with that.

Yep. 100% agree.

But the quarian/geth resolution in the second act was absolutely amazing. I had always hoped that the two races would end up at peace with each other, but was skeptical about how BW could make that happen without making it all cheesy. Yet they crafted a story that wasn't cliche at all, yet had a very happy ending. And this time, you fight a reaper...with no thresher maw. Epic. Hats off to them.
Shooting cans with Garrus was awesome.
Watching Ashley and Tali drunk was hilarious.
Shep: "This empty bottle?"
Ash: "It's empty? Oh, boy..."
...
Tali: "Emergency induction tube"
The moment when you realize that Thane's prayer was for Shep.
The voice acting in general. It was kinda 'meh' in the opening sequence, which had me somewhat worried. But it immediately improved. As a matter of fact, the voice acting for the remainder of the game was stunning. ALL of it sounded very genuine.
UNFORTUNATELY, the uncharacteristically obscure, confusing and utterly unsatisfying ending leaves me crushed, despite the triumphs above. /sigh...

The lows AND highs of Tuchanka... I mean you take out a reaper w/a freaking thresher maw! RAAAAAAAWR & Mordin... I mean I knew going into this game characters HAD to die! not everyone could make it through this war unscathed or the struggle would lose all meaning... but watching mordin go was tough. he was one of the most interesting & engaging characters of the series.
Thane's death. For me the most moving death in the game, not because it was unexpected but because the emotion that Keythe Farley & Quinton Flynn put into the scene. We all knew Thane wasn't going to be a team member this time around & it was probable that he was already dead/dying but his final scene was amazing. Props to the VO & writing teams.
The entire Geth/Quarian piece esp the end decisions you have to make & the death of Legion. Didn't see that one coming.
The Tali & Ashley drunk scenes
Garrus shooting bottles w/Commander
Speaking w/Urdnot Bakara aka Eve
The destruction of Thessia
Speaking w/Major Kirahe (Surprisingly to me it was the end of the conversation where he tells you what your efforts on VIrmire meant to him & Salarian STG)
Hell I even liked the conversations w/the Illusive man, including the final one.
I have to say I was happy (probably more like ecstatic ) with the entire game up until the moment Shepard gets lifted up on a beam of white light (After Anderson dies).
Some of it was predictable (The death of damned near everyone reaching the spires to the Citadel)... hell even Shepard's death was a predictable outcome but the end just sucked.
It had no emotional impact. It fell flat to me.
Is this what Lost viewers felt like at the end of the show?

- Facing off one-on-one against a Reaper. Holy ****. Probably the most epic boss fight I've ever been a part of.
THIS. So. Much.
- Also loved truly powerful moments such as Mordin's death, Thane's death and the last prayer he gave Shep, and the sweet, sweet revenge against Kai Leng with that unskippable renegade interrupt...
- Not to mention Legion's death... having Tali tell him that he DOES, indeed, have a soul, still brings tears to my eyes.
- Shepard's vulnerable moments (apart from the whole kid subplot, which annoyed me to no ends).
- Garrus romance. My. God. I cried.
- Drunk Tali.
- Shepard yelling Bosh'tet.
- Surprisingly, there's also a small scene I absolutely adored. Liara's last gift. I never liked Liara in the series. But I don't know. Standing in the dark, with her head on my shoulder as light grows before us... I sort of fell in love with her. It was so damn sweet.

Oh...and I also loved the ending.
- I agree with others, seeing characters move around the ship, interacting with each other and talking over the intercoms was fantastic. It really drove home the fact that they were all friends and colleagues too, not just Shepard's crew.
- I loved that, with Tali at least, her romantic story was more than just a goal to try and sleep with her in the end. She became Shepard's confidant, someone he could go to and be vulnerable about his fears and his insecurities. It was a real romance, something I very much hoped to see.
- I also loved having to deal with my first relationship (Liara). The game didn't just let it go, I had to face it and let her down. And I don't know if this really mattered but I spent the rest of the game being very careful around her, being her friend without letting it lead to more. I don't know if it could have, but the fact that I cared that much is testament to this game's great writing and characters.

Wait a minute, wait a minute.- Tali drunk-dialing a Prothean. I mean, I can't believe I'm typing that sentence. "You liiiiike her!" "You are intoxicated." "You like me toooo."
You're telling me Drunk Tali is even better with the From Ashes DLC? You've just restored my will to play though the game a second time. I didn't do the quest to get him until after that bit, so I missed out on that.
Anyway, my list:
-Shooting Udina. I'm a hardcore paragon player most of the time, so you can imagine the conflict that occured within me when presented with the opprotunity to shoot the most irritating character in the series. Actually, no you can't, because there was no conflict. The only reason I didn't hit that Renegade interupt button faster was because I was stunned by my good fortune and momentarily frozen with glee.
-The crew interaction. Some people dislike how little time you spend actually talking to your crew, but honestly, we've known most of these characters for 2-3 games. What is there left to talk about? Walking in on the crew interacting with eachother more than makes up for it. A few particularly stand out moments are: Garrus and Joker exchanging racist jokes, Garrus calibrating better than Legion, and walking in on Ken and Gabby finally getting together.
-EDI's sense of humor. Of particular note is her joke about forgetting to recycle the Oxygen when she finds something interesting, which illicites a priceless look on Shepard's face.
-The best possible Geth/Quarian ending.
Everybody Lives. Just this once, everybody lives. Legion sacrifices himself, but in a somewhat literal way, he lived on in the rest of the geth.
-Joker snapping at Shepard. After Thesia, Joker tells one joke too many and causes Shepard to lose his/her temper (even with a paragon response), and Joker does. not. take it. lying. down.

It's amazing. They really integrate From Ashes well into the game. I would get that character as soon as possible, there's some interesting interaction as a result of various missions, especially with Liara.Nobrandminda wrote...

I don't remember when exactly, but it's shortly before the end of the game. Some time prior to that you walk in on them having an arguement, and you have the option of siding with one of them. Gabby is browbeating Ken about the fact that he makes stupid sexist comments about the bodies of every girl he sees except her. I sided with her, I'm not sure if that's necessary to get them together, but there you go. Shortly thereafter, go down to engineering and they won't be at their post, instead they will be below the engineering room (Jacks area from ME2). It's the only time they're not at their usual post, so if you go to engineering and they're not there, that's where they will be.Karrie788 wrote...

They are the two engineers from ME2. You have the option of recruiting them again in ME3 at the Spector Information terminal.singing_pigs wrote...

-The final Renegade move for Kai Leng
-Mordin's death cutscene (if he dies)
Those were the only three things from the game that sparked emotion in me (other than rage over the ending, which pretty much tainted how I felt about the rest of the game).

Well, it's a bit cliché, but I'd lie if I said I didn't want it to happen. XD

- I really enjoyed the weapon upgrade system, specifically trying out different weapon/upgrade combinations at the shooting range. I spent a good hour there at one point, trying as many combinations as I could to get just the right setup for my play style.
- I already liked the combat in ME2, but it felt ever-so-slightly better in this one somehow. I think there was maybe too much of it, but it was at least fun to play.
- Taking back the Citadel was an especially great mission.
