So I battled my way to the reaper and he keeps dropping a seemingly endless supply of Brutes.
When I move toward a hammer I get spiked by the reaper.
No fun, what am I supposed to do ?

For me, cleared first wave, headed towards thumper which triggered another wave, cleared that, then went to the thumper and was able to activate it.

You dodge the Reaper leg while also dodging/killing the Brutes

Any trick to the dodging ? Reaper's aim seems impeccable :_(

I just hit space and ran, didn't notice anything special for dodging, may be a difficulty difference, what diff are you on?

I didn't have to kill anything i just ran my arse off to both hammers.

I went left then I changed quickley changed direction in the opposite direction while dodging everything. I was surprised it worked on the third try.

It's cyclic, and you need to sprint to not get skewered.

It's not all that hard once you get the hang of it. When you head for the hammer, you'll see the shadow of the Reaper's leg. Just wait (or run back) until the Reaper smashes down and then picks the leg back up, and then make a dash for it. Do the same on the other side. Your squaddies will distract the Brutes enough if you hurry (or, if you're a vanguard, life gets even easier and you can very quickly make it to the other side of the screen before the brutes attack you).

Yeah, Reaper kept hitting me dead-on too. Its foot came down too fast for me to react. Luckily my Shepard's a beast apparently, and it only ever took my shields down, allowing me to just stumble and keep running

Dodge the reaper leg.  There's not really a trick to it.  Just let it come down once and when it's on its way back up sprint forward.

Made it...actually at the Quarian fleet bit now
