Hey all

I just wanted to say what a great time I have had in this thread. Been here since page 500 and some of you have probably noticed me. But anyway I am amazed at how civil this thread is and how sensible and deep some the analysis for the IT is. It makes me damn proud to have been part of all this.

Sadly though I wont be around and typing when the grand finale hits in April. I am going to Japan early tomorrow and wont be back till April 15. Though ill probably be able to check the Internet posting will be hard. But I will be here to the very end.

No matter what Bioware announces, what they say or release, I will always remember Mass Effect 3 if not for the ending then for this thread and all the civil people in it. That is something to remember.

So with that said there is only one thing left to say.

"This is Salarian STG Team in Denmark we are surrounded andhalf my men are dead! No way out, just have to hold out for as long as we can! To anyone hearing this, tell everyone that we held the line till the very end! Salarian STG out...for the last time."

Hold the line people, I will be watching and praying for the outcome.

At least you can take solace in the fact that you get to go to an awesome place like Japan, while I'm stuck in South Carolina.

I'll be gone as well, at least until April 20th so I will feel your pain for a small time period.  I've been lurking since page 1...I think my F5 key is worn out...

Hey guys, how about wild speculation? Really, really wild? This may even be stupid, but I'm bored at work and I've been reading IDT threads for all of this week :)

This thread here:
http://social.biowar...ndex/10654432/1

talks about the various voices in the dream sequences, and the shadows. There seem to be things like "just shoot him", "don't trust him" and so on and so forth.

The top post here:
http://social.biowar...dex/10654432/12

Gets some really interesting data dumps.

Here is my pet theory - ME3 is Shepard reliving the events. The kid is someone who found Shepard in the rubble. The shadows are the only "real" part as Shepard is struggling to recover from brain trauma, or indocrination, or both. Or maybe Shepard is doing things under Reaper control, and the strange events are reality leaking in.

This theory is HEAVILY inspired by American McGee's Alice in Wonderland

Any thoughts on my very wild speculation?

To add to this, here's a video link:

On my earbuds, with the sound cranked up, I can distinctly hear "Just... give in" at the 0:16 mark.

Ok fine.

I brought this up a long time ago, but I dont think many people responded to it:

Could it be possible that the Reaper IFF we took from the Derelict Reaper is what has been slowly indoctrinating us?

I mean, you only have it for a short time in ME2, and then pretty quickly after getting it you hand the Normandy over to the Alliance, then when you get the Normandy back, and spend more time aboard it, you start having those dreams.

Also to add to this, is EDI officially Reaper tech (This has been discussed, I believe)?

Is the Reaper IFF on board in ME3?

Well, all the Cerberus scientists on that Derelict Reaper where indoctrinated from something. Guess Shepard just happened to pick one of the 'wooing' type techs, that incidentally gets you through the Omega 4 Relay too.

The IFF is indeed on-board in ME3. EDI specifically mentions it at one point.

As to the video, no can't make anyting out of it. I think I could make out what some of the whispers were saying when I was playing, but cannot remember now. As to your theory, I don't think it makes any sense either, although as you said earlier, it was pretty wild to begin with.

It is VERY possible that this is the "indoctrination device" and the source of the "hum" and your dreams.

I really need to replay.  I missed so many things.

Anyway, yeah, then definitely a source of ID.  It also explains the dreams and the whispers in the dream and James' hearing the humming.

Another thing I've been curious about is why did the Alliance make the Normandy so dark inside with metal tubes running all over the floors and all red glowing stuff. Seems unnecessary to change what color the electronics are...
