But... but... Speculaton... For everyone!

The thing about indoctrination is that I don't believe it was ever ment to be this super fast process (the super fast process was always huskifcation). Although it can be done rapidily (which as the codex says destorys mental cabilitly) the pure reasoning behind it was less about controlling the person's mind but rathering needing the person to believe what they (the reapers) want them to.

It's been shown that Indoc can be fought of, by holding steadyfast to your ideals (e.g Shepard showing Saren how he'd betrayed his principles breaking indoc long enought for Saren to off himself... same thing with the TIM at the end, if it were real). And if you realise the Destroy ending is the only one where Shepard completely holds onto to his ideals... his spent the whole game telling TIM that TIM was wrong- yet control spits in that ideas face, at the very start of the GodChild/Choice Machine scene he tells the GodChild that Organics aren't machines- yet Synthesis turns everyone in the galaxy into said machines. No matter what the scarfice is (all synthetic life), the destroy ending is the only one where Shepard fully holds onto his ideals and destroys the reapers- breaking the cycle for good.

I know, I avoided all spoilers and when I got to the end I chose destroy, after a 5 year journey and that being the ultimate goal... I was going to let Annakin Skywalker convince me otherwise....

That Annakin Skywalker quote is relevant if you have seen the movie AI lol.

you've confirmed a few things. But the most important is that the indoctrination process CAN INDEED mess with your dreams.

It's also worth mentioning that when you wake up from the 2nd "dream" you have a datapad in your hand and it appears as though you are standing up...... from what I remember anyway.

definitely weird. I also noticed that after the dream sequences shepard is rubbing his forehead... *headaches anyone????*

Yes! Noticed that too Posted Image

Honestly, the way I see it now. At PAX this weekend Bioware will have like a 1 or 2 minute teaser trailer that will make all the fans dosile and then scream with joy and have happy, hopeful question instead of negative one.. If they don't pull the rabbit out of the hat this weekend, the Magician is gonna get booed off stage.

Not just booed of stage... they'd get mobbed by rabid mass effect fans. Scarier then a zombie mob.

Honestly, if Bioware state that they're releasing new ending DLC (with Indoc) anytime this month or early next month than it'll be absoutely clear that they ahd this planned from the very start.

If it's in june then it'll be clear that they caved into fan pressure.

Either way, if it gets to be announced and there is the possibility of Blue Children, then I'm a happy man (I've spent way to much time on this game and with my Shepard to not want a happy ending for him).

That's why  I compare Indoctrination to an induced, controlled version of schizophrenia, since it's clear that it affects perception, but doesn't control the person.

It's also what makes TIM's line 'I need you to believe' such proof for indoctrination (imho), he spent the entire game saying Shepard's opinion counts for jack all and suddenly he feels the need to justify his actions to Shepard like Shepard is some how now his moral consciousness.

Yean, not buying it.

But the outdoors haz Starz. Seriously, writing under a starry sky with no city lights is the most amazing thing ever... Especially since I write Sci-Fi.

Anyway OT:... I can't think of what to discuss.

My sentiments exactly, and I'm getting all the exercise I need:

Running Bioware down
Jumping to IT conclusions
Running around in circles
Chasing DLC ending speculation.

I am becomming a finely tuned forum machine!:o

1M1. I know people have discussed this in relation to the console room. But has anyone else noticed how those 1m1 bridge support/antenna things appear four times in the Choice Machine Room after the talk with the god child. If you walk the opposite way to the Choice Machine, you can see it quite clearly.

Edit: Just want to point out how that's there despite Godchild staing no organic had been in that area before.

Yeah I noticed that. Weird indeed. I don't know exactly where they come from. But i was doing suicide mission in me2 and noticed a few structures inside the collector base that looked like that.. just without the paint and such (unfinished ya know?) I'd love to know what they are.

I think someone posted this already, but... This should be remembered.

April 6. PAX.

Bioware Representative: So, we close this issue by clarifying that the end is maintained, and there will be no change. We apologize if anyone has bothered, but remember, the important thing is the journey, not the end. Now, Any Questions? Yes, you, go ahead.

Anonymous FAN: Yes, amh ... How fast can you run?

I'm pretty sure you see them in ME1 when you're scaling the citadel. However I don't see how they would be underneat the Citadel if that area is untouched by Organics.

To further this, may I point out how TIM's choice would have been blue, while Saren's would have been Green. Two main antagonists' ultimate goals represented in two of the choices... yeah, I think Red was the only way to break indoctrination.

You know what would suck. If Shepard's birthday was on the day when the Collectors blow up the SR1 Normandy and killed Shepard. Then two years later Shepard is very pissed about the Reapers screwing up his, or her birthday again, when they f*** Earth up, but then the Reapers feel sorry for messing up Shepard's birthday. So the Reapers knock Shepard out, and let Shepard save the galaxy in the fake world they created for Shepard.

although they could have injected Shepard with "RIFILAN", and that could be why Shepard is seeing things that are just plain mind blowing to Shepard.

The Weekes leak was a confirmed fake.

As for Final Hours, I wouldn't say most are ignoring it; they're just doing mental gymnastics to explain it away.

Why Green? I've been curiouse about this for a while but why did they go for green? If Syntheis was meant to be the compromise between Control and Destroy shouldn't it have been purple or something? I guesss I can understand that they're the three prime colours and all but... but still? Green is a colour meant to represent life and nature while Syntheis involves Synthesising life to be less organic. Green doesn't make that much sense.
