Just wanted to clarify something. Does the starchild actually say Shepard will die if he chooses the destroy option. I know it states Shepard is "partly synthetic", but that does not necessarily mean death for the hero/ine.

I think we have to consider that the starchild implies Shepard would die with destroy, but does not outright say "If you choose this solution you WILL die". So can it be considered a lie?

Thoughts?

Couldn't it be considered a lie either way? I don't trust anything that little brat says.

Hehe I don't trust it either, but can we say this thing is outright lying to us?

Never says you will die. Only with the others.

"You can wipe out all synthetic life if you want. Including the Geth. Even you are partly synthetic."

Took me long enough to notice and it's not mentioned in the OP. Don't recall it being mentioned in the vids either. Anyway 3rd playthrough is the charm ;P

The Prothean VI on Thessia says you're not indoctrinated and shuts down once it spots Kai Leng, the only indoctrinated force in the area.
The same VI on the Cerberus Headquarters answers your question about the Catalyst after saying "Security protocols have been overridden. I will comply."

When Shepard asks, why it didn't answer the first time, it answered that it would only do so once the Crucible was finished. So why mention that the fact its security protocols have been overridden is what allows it to comply? The crucible is finished when you speak to it on Cerberus headquarters after all. Another hint maybe?

Sorry if this was mentioned before :)

We know Shepard is partly synthetic ala Project Lazarus. But to what extent does he need the synthetic parts to actually live?

The bigger picture in it is how did Shepard get back to Earth?

Because when I played my destroy ending... The citadel didn't even blow up... So there's no reason for Shepard to be lying in rubble on the citadel.. errgo... She never left Earth.. Bioware are so smart!Posted Image

Yeah has been mentioned and is quite a good point. But I remember the VI being very difficult about revealing anything about the catalyst on Thessia. Protheans and their bleak outlook I guess :P

Still maybe once the security protocools have been overridden it's just a default statement the VI says when asked anything about the Catalyst. Because there is no security, its just logical that the VI would outright give the answers without having to identify who is asking the question.

Still I do find it strange....

Yep this is why I still cling on to hope. We clearly do see the part where Shepard made the decision blow to smitherings, so unless he was magically teleported back to Earth, I can't see how he would be down there. You know, unless it was more "flawed" logic, which I hope not.

Yeah perhaps it is a default statement. After all it does ask you if you came to reclaim it from indoctrinated forces, which could be a pointer that you're not actually indoctrinated.

I just prefer to trust in the indoctrination theory than believe there's a chance that this ending was just bad writting. lol

Shepard only has synthetic replacements but he is still a human not a syntethic live like the Geth or EDI... so he will not die. If you look at destroy, the Reapers get not blasted into pieces, they only look like they get dectivated. Same I suggest will happen with the geth and EDI (if Star Brat does nit lie).

Sheppard still is human and a organic live form only with some synthetic/kybernetic parts.

My guess is that the synthetics and implants are required for Shepard to live. I'm assuming this because TIM wanted Shepard to be identical to him/herself before dying. Why insert implants if they weren't required? They would risk Shepard being different.

Yeah.. but I think the synthetic parts would be kinda important for his survival... so he'd probably die slowly, or at least fall apart or something

I was under the impression that the VI was hacked by TIM and thats why the security is no longer in effect.

But I gess the synthetic parts are still linked to his brain somhow and get impulses from it (and his brain for sure is still organic). So probably deactivating them is not possible for the crucible.. but all speculation, cause nobody knows what exactly the crucible "deactivates" or destroys in syntethics =).

I suggests Star brat only keeps telling that shep is party synthetic is to get his sympathy for other Synthetics and the reapers to show "look you are partly like us..!"

Yeah this is what I'm driving at. I found it interesting that some people believe the starchild is lying to you. But can we say that as fact? After all, the starchild does not outright say "If you choose destroy you will die", just states that Shepard is "partly synthetic"

Your Citadel did not blow up on red ending? That is eithe a troll attempt or something new.

Also there is a video highlighting where Shepard wakes up it is not London, (To be hoenst this is like the IT, there is no real proof to say eitherway).

Indeed the VI was hacked by TIM. The question is though, why did it tell Shepard "Security protocols have been overridden. I will comply." when you ask him about the catalyst? It's like saying "I would not answer otherwise, but since my security protocols are down, I will".

Yeah. Strange, because he could have just given you vague answers again, as he did on Thessia.

Yeah I thought this too. Mentioning the geth and that Shepard too is partly synthetic makes the decision for our hero/oine less black and white, right or wrong. It's definitely a grey area.

Only if they actually let us get up from breaking indoctrination and finish the battle once and for all.. It's not over, not in my books.
