Updating what I said last page:
I have a new idea from that audio clip. When Shepard wakes up from the dream ending, in the pile of rubble, she's still going to have to go to the conduit to activate the crucible, maybe Anderson goes with her then. Maybe this won't have to be a DLC, maybe it's just some tweaks to the current ending, minus the dream-y aspects, IF you passed the indoctrination check. Maybe after Shepard activates the crucible, there's the full conversation with Anderson, who unfortunately still passes away (but it kind of expected), and then the crucible goes off how it was supposed to. No god child, but the reapers are destroyed. The normandy comes into the citadel and gets shepard, shepard wakes up at some point after. Why else would they record both full conversations with femshep and maleshep + anderson and cut both. No, they'll use this, I can guarantee it.
That means the actual ending is probably on the disk and just super locked until bioware patches it open.
o_o
Regarding that, what I said earlier:
Here's something. Go ahead and play the files:
End03_Shepard_Alive_Fem.bik
End03_Shepard_Alive_Male.bik
These can be found here if anyone isn't sure:
Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\Movies
These files show the scene where Shepard begins breathing.
If you look carefully you can see what appears to be power cables and metal along with the rubble. Could these be the remains of the conduit? The design of the cables (silver with black banding) seems familiar but I cannot think why. If what I'm seeing can be confirmed, it could mean that the conduit is destroyed, leaving the question of what destroyed it?
It also appears that Shepard isn't just surrounded by rubble, but actually buried beneath it.
From what I saw, it is highly unlikely that Shepard can free him/herself. Sound familiar? Think back to what Bacara (I think that is how you spell it) said on Tuchanka about her rite to become a shaman and digging out of a cave with a crystal.
Foreshadowing seems to be occurring rather a lot here. Either that or we're just seeing what we want to see.

Doesn't necessarily mean it's his biological son though. He could be adopted or a step-son or anything. Maybe the cut dialogue is Anderson saying he doesn't have his OWN family.

I don't understand this common misconception that you destroy most technology.
When? The Catalyst says it destroys all synthetic life. Including the geth.
That's as far as that goes.
Catalyst: I know you've thought about destroying us.
You can wipe out all synthetic life if you want. Even you are partially synthetic.
But the peace won't last. Your children will create synthetics.
That's all. Where does that say all technology is destroyed?
As far as the person asking how the catalyst would no what to kill. I beleieve the intent is that the energy sent out destroys only synthetic life. It's not so much pinpointing as it is using "space magic".
Its probably different for a renegade shep, there is definately a file or two saying that "all technology" would be made redundant, audio files in fact.

I have a question, but before i ask i have to say that I support this SO MUCH it isn't even funny lol i mean every thing just seemed out of place and not right. but my question is when shep wakes up after the beam attack I noticed that some people have seen their crew laying around them dead, but I didn't seen any of my team mates dead around me, what causes this?
mine was 6 thousand and something plus a hundred percent readiness, i am guessing your EMS has something to do with that?

I want to buy into this theory so much, but I'm trying to remain skeptical about it as well. I hope that we're on the right track here, but, at the very least, I'd say this theory should become the community's "definitive" fanfiction ending!

Well I replayed through that sequence a few hours ago, and the Guardian said something along the lines of "and most of the technology you rely on". He didn't say "all", but he did mention the technology when presenting me with my COLORFUL options.

I actually haven't been lurking this thread since last night because I was inspired to actually go through and play ME2 again! This time as a Vanguard instead of a Soldier (and holllllllly hell is it fun
Like I said, for now, this has given me just the right amount of motivation I've needed to go back and play 2 (to "romance" Kelly) and then to go through 3 to see what people are talking about and if I can spot anything else.
I'm almost scared to check back to see if BioWare has ruined it yet, though

The datapad doesn't disprove anything. Shepard could still defeat the reapers and become a legend after the rest of the ending becomes available.
Exactly. You don't have to die in the process to become a legend. You can defeat them and become a hero and then a legend. And that datapad also mentions dlc, so...yeah.

But it would be cruel. I mean the ending is emotionally harsh. Every species on its own, relays gone, no info on your squadmates - it is beyond sad.
Coming up with a DLC telling us this was all fake and a dream might even be worse than it actually being the real endings.
Besides: I haven't seen the destroy ending but I presume it also shows the relays blowing up. If it does, what is the sense of it if the reapers lose with this option? No need to imagining such a thing after overcoming the indoctrination.
I guess I'll fire up ME3 again tomorrow to play the destroy ending and watch closely after all...

How does Hackett know that it is Shepard inside the Citadel when it is specifically stated that no one saw anyone make it to the beam?
Plotholes, oh so very many lovely plotholes.
It's like I hear a new one every hour.
Also, where's the medi-gel shepard always has?
How does harbinger blow away all Shepard's paint?
wait I like this point... Shepard's paint is gone... which always represented him and also represent the Mass Effect series itself. However, his red, white war paint is gone... I might be stretching something here but it seems like the symbolism... whole citadel shepard is not real shepard! lol just blurting out rough thought
