Not to derail the thread, but this whole all this is funny now. I never wanted to play Mass Effect because I always thought your only choice was to play as broshep. I didn't play it until my fiance bought it for me just last year after showing me a screenshot of the femshep character creation screen. Haha. I almost didn't play one of my favorite games of all-time simply because I thought you had to play as a dude. :P I kept telling him to get DA instead. I only like rpgs if you get a female character option.

Yeah, same here. I identify more with female characters than I do with male characters.

Although I am male, so that seems like it has unfortunate implications.

As Jennifer Hale put it, what would you rather stare at for hours on end?

I do play ManShep, but I understand the appeal.  I will finsh a FemShep playthrough at some point.  I must say, playing FemShep and romancing Liara does have a lot of appeal....

FemShep/Liara is the best romance in the game imo.

And not because of the 'Ooh! Lesbians!' factor, I just like both voice actors, and think they go really well together

How can you resist Jennifer Hale's voice?

Im not really one for masculine women, and femshep definitely is masculine (the way she stands and i honestly dont like her voice that much.. dont kill me! :(). I usually play through the games 3 times with specific mindsets; i play as myself, then full paragon, then full renagade and i usually do a couple new game plus for each one.

Garrus is second best, but he can never beat Liara.

Speaking of Garrus, on my playthrough where I romanced him, after the romance scene before the Cerberus Base attack I got a message from Garrus on the Datapad app saying something along the lines of: "Its late. Just got up for some water. You're still asleep. Wanted to say how beautiful I think you are. Love Garrus"

Made me feel all warm and fuzzy

Uh, Mark Meer's voice acting is pretty good too, if you ask me.

Fem shep has a commanding voice no doubt. I'd rather my shep male and prefer the male voice acting to Hales work as well

If the indoc theory is true then how come if your EMS is low the only option is to destroy the reapers? Shouldn't it make it so the only option is control or even synthesis?

I just love Hale's VAing and I love the fact that someone with a uterus is really in charge, and people listen to her. It's cathartic for me.

@byne I still think your profile pic of Liara is the best picture I have seen of her. That should have been the picture of her you got for your desk in ME2...

IIRC, it's only destroy if you choo seto destroy the Collector base in ME2, Otherwise it's control.

Well you die if your EMS is that low, can assume the Reapers realize you're critically injured and give up on you.

Byne, assuming our hope pays off and IT proves to be true, what, in your opinion, is the reason BioWare has behaved this way with the ending. Notably:

(1) Didn't release it in game (my opinion = deadlines from EA interfered)

(2) Is responding in this defensively pseudo apologetic way to the fans - i.e. instead of just saying "trust us more is coming" they go on about how well the game was received and that ardent fans may have gotten off hand? (to keep the surprise alive?)

(3) Finally, is this behavior in any way more profitable for them than say another behavior such as admitting to IT given all the negative feedback on their product? Thanks.
