Wait a day or two.. they might turn around and say it'll include gameplay.. we don't know for sure. But at least it's some sort of victory.. in a way. They'll have a hell of a time explaining this one though.

I guess summer release and this sentence means that indoctrination wasn't the planned from the start and is not in planning now. Such a shame...

Cinematic IT sequences could not save the endings... :/ Maybe I just feel that way because I so strongly felt that IT was true from the get-go and this ending was only a bait and switch.

I would assume cinematic sequences infer to scene like the Normandy crash landing. You don't control anything. You just see what happens.

This is so disappointing. I really and truly thought they were playing us the whole time and the "extended cut" was sitting in their back pocket already complete so they could release it once most people had a chance to finish the game.

Maybe that is still the case? Perhaps they thought the "ending" they put in would be enough to sustain people for a few months until they released the big SURPRISE Extended cut DLC? But then the crapstorm happened about the endings and they had to adjust their original timeline? All may not be lost I suppose. I just assumed they would have had the ending DLC already done if what we already got was just a teaser. But if they already had it, why not just release it now? But if it isn't coming until summer, it seems more like they are scrambling to release something which strongly points to the fact that those endings we got were the real thing.

That is what disappoints me. After all these years I EXPECT major twists from Bioware. They have never disappointed me, not once, with any of their stories.

But this? Not this... I can't believe those endings were real with all of the evidence pointed out in this thread and many others. It's just sad.

I won't completely lose faith in them until after the panel at PAX tomorrow though. I'll wait and see what they have to say about all of this.

Why all the gloom? The statement says they are adding clearer context doesn't mean the IT is dead...... Yet. 

It is the PR phrasing "Cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes" makes it sound like they are just throwing some movies on the ending, no extra gameplay for example, and IT was either never planned to continue the ending or was just scrapped.

If it was just scrapped that is particularly shoddy work, they just threw some stuff at the ending and called it quits.

This  does not confirm or deny IT. The extra scenes could just as easily confirm or deny IT.

Everyone is overreacting..lol

Hell, the dlc on the way could still confirm or deny IT. Speculations ending tomorrow woot!

I mentioned earlier (it got lost now that the thread has exploded) that there isn't enough substance in the PR speak to make a call yet.

Though the “We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts ...." is discouraging.


Least we know what is going to be announced at PAX tomorrow.

All we can hope for is angry fans asking the hard questions. I doubt we will learn anything this article hasn't already stated.

Yes this is what I'm thinking. They are still planning on 'post-launch' content it says there, just rounding out the ending. I don't think this will kill off possibility of some sort of expansion after the ending. Though they haven't done that since DAO?!

Rofl. I'm still in a state of shock about this coat-hanger abortion of an ending. Not because IT is true or false but that bioware thinks this will appease the masses and save their brand.

Congratulations bioware you may have reviewers in bed with you, but you lost a lot of your core fans. At least I still can TRUST Nintendo and Blizzard to deliver satisfying games
