Well, it was quite obvious that they did not have a "secret ending" so to speak. Though i would not want to despise those who truly believed in IT, it was mostly grasping at straws unfortunately.

Besides, despite being a deus ex machina cliche(and of course the three colour thing), real major downside of the endings was lack of closure.

A few minor tweaks here and there and some closure should do just fine. For example; all starchild and stargazer stuff is quite meaningless and should be altered easily, thus making a good enough ending for the Mass Effect.

I'm not a Bioware fan anymore i think but, i also think we all should get over our disappointment and stop beating the crap out of them. They seem to be reacting to fanbase as best as they can. It has to count for something good when they have a company like EA looking over their shoulders.

Really. In ME1 we kicked the crap out of Sarin. In ME2 we took our crew through the Omega 4 relay and kicked the crap out of the collectors. In ME3 everyone who came to Earth to help us fight the reapers are now trapped there never to see their loved ones again. I realize your trying to be nice and I'm trying not to completely unload on you, but come on. This was worse than a bad ending. It was an ending full of hopelessness.

I can't remember Sarin.

Exactly.

How exactly can this be clarified and provide me with personal closure.  My f@#@#$ LI is with Joker!  I "may" have taken a breath at the end?  So I'm either in space or somehow alive on Earth after being in space without a helmet and crashing through the atmosphere???  Then what about the relays?  What about...grrr.....

WHAT THE FREAKING FRAK!  Do we really need to explain to everybody that this ending CANNOT BE CLARIFIED.

::DEEP BREATH::

Ahem....sorry.

You know "additional scenes" can mean gameplay. For example:
Charging the teleporter is a scene
Standing up and shooting the three husketeers and marauder shields is a scene
Being on the Citadel is a scene

I am not sure if they will change the ending. I only read a german translation of the release and it sounded like they will clarify the ending primarely, not necessarily change it.

What do you think?

I really dont know why are you panic. We always know that they are making a new content that will clarify ending, Ray Muzyka say that. And it is strange that they announced this today, not on PAX. Something is not right there. Wouldnt it be a great move to do this to break our last hope and tomorrow make a "amazing"  announcement to surprise us even more?

I still believe in Bioware.I still hold the line.

A number of different sites are live tweeting Biowares pannels. It shouldn't be too hard to find info as it happens.

I rather believe an Indoctrination Theory, than a fixed tasteless ending, even with one or two more extra cinematics. Because even if the IT wasn't their objective it made sense and made ME3 ending special to me. If they risk IT out of the ending, the starchild and several things that happened right after shepard is hit by the laser just don't make sense even with a two hour Cinematic.
We all hoped for a final battle, the control sentesys will destroy Mass Effect universe. The only thing that made sense was that was all a dream/hallucination.

I've never traded in a game before. How much would ME3 fetch?

probably $30-40

ha yeah right, if you trading at gamestop youll be lucky if you get 15 for it... they rip you off so that they can make 50X the profit because they are pretty much as grubby as ea when it comes to money, theyre rip off artists, your better off selling it on amazon or something like that.

Lol. Nice. But sadly you have no idea what you are talking about. I traded in Batman: Arkham city about a month after release and with my pro rewards card I got $44. I got skyrim for $35 two months after release as well.

yeah, but those games were criticly praised not raged over such as ME3, they also didnt go into a Price drop 3 weeks later, so when it comes to ME3 your probably not going to get much, trust me i trade games alot, and yes im a pro rewards member, but unless you trade in on a special bonus credit day, you really not going to get much.

Okay, this sucks. But I think you guys are overreacting. This is a very bad sign, but it's not IT's tombstone. I want to focus on two points here.

1. PR speak isn't gamer speak. The people who write press releases and such aren't the same people who devoted half their lives to gaming. They think things like "cinematic sequences" are bullet points to sell a product. They likely don't understand that we're chomping at the bit for more gameplay and may think that's just implied.

2. The delay doesn't mean it wasn't planned. Games run on deadlines like anything else. ME3 was already delayed for quite a while before it hit the shelves. 6 months at least, I think? They may have prioritized. Release the game up until the indoctrination ending and then finish the post-indoctrination content afterwards. It makes sense in that it buys them some precious extra months to really finish the game. They just didn't expect the immense backlash. How could they? No one did. I've never heard of any game or even movie with an ending that so enraged its fanbase that major news networks covered it. That's unheardof.

I advise my faithful line-holding comrades in arms keyboards not to let this crush all hope. Step back and take a minute to consider the reasons this may not be what it seems at first glance. More importantly, take a look back at all the evidence that made you an IT believer in the first place. So much of it couldn't have been an accident, and so much of it would have been easy to remove if IT was scrapped. Weigh the possibility that all that was random chance versus the possibility that the press release was misleading/poorly worded/ect.

I haven't done the "holding the line" catchphrase yet, but I think this time I'll use it for emphasis. Harbinger himself will have to burn my lifeless corpse off the line.

The explanation will have to be good. Why shepard only wakes up with destroy? How characters end up on the normandy. Why some strange ghost child thing happened to be the creator of the reapers.

And they actually expected people to understand these things without "Clarification"

At this point I'm more cautious and optimistic.

As opposed to before when the roles were reversed.

That said, I haven't abandoned the line yet.

My guess on the DLC (crosspost from another thread)

One scene where "The crucible is doing nothing, retreat!" is announced by Hackett to send all the races back to their original worlds. (this is why Lance Henriksen knew about "big plans")
Once scene where someone convinces Joker to leave the space around Earth since the rest of the galaxy's forces are retreating and him stubbornly refusing until the very last second. This includes him picking up Cortez and the squadmates on Earth.
One Scene where the crashed Normandy finds civilization on the wilderness planet. (prestarflight and with the dextro/sino issue with aminoacids handwaved away with Synthesis or Normandy or a secret Turian Hydroponics lab)
Then some splashscreens and maybe a few animations showing squadmembers with children all around the galaxy. Including blue babies. All of them bearing the name Shepard.

The utter sh*tpile of writing with GodChild remains unchanged since this is Caseys artistic vision put in as a reminder of how it is to work with EA and their Child logic.

This leaves ME in a state where all the players are back into square one except Humans who will be divided up between the Hackett faction who got stuck after regrouping a Mass Relay or two away and Andersons resistance back on Earth.
No matter what choice we took Shepard is dead (even in Destroy, that was just silly pandering and will amount to bubkiss) and the Reapers die/leave without doing anything.
The synthesis will be ignored in any future setting except maye as a circuitry texture package.

There you have the glory of Mass Effect franchise.
As beautiful as if Luke Skywalker had said to the Emperor "Sure, Dark Side sounds like the right thing. I will become your b*tch and then die"

I had a thought. Just because we're getting new cutscenes, doesn't mean IT isn't true. It is still possible that we will get even more, especially considering there is still PAX tomorrow. IT FTW, Hold the Line!

Edit: I also had a thought.  They said that the new cutscenes will be coming in Summer.  That would be June at the earliest.  There could still be something in May or even April.  Also, I am suspicious of their motives.  Why would they announce this the DAY BEFORE PAX?  Something is up.  This is OUR test.  Like Shepard had his, this is ours.  Don't be indoctrinated.  Hold the Line.

Well we already know why he only wakes up in the destory option. He dies in the other two. What'll be nice is if we picked the control option we get to float around th Reaper Consensus and dicover their past and how they got to be the mass murderers they are now.

And hold the line :)

/edit: Hmmm "additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes"

why seperate the two if the epilogue scenes do not contain gameplay?

I hated the ending, really, i was like "OH GOD, WHY" actually. I'm not trying to justify the ending, i'm just saying current ending is the real ending and they'll try to find a middle way between the ending and fan reaction to it.

I'd be more than happy with Shepard and Anderson having their conversation and dying(damn you Hackett) content knowing that they have done it.

But please tell me; wouldn't you be content if there wasn't any starchild/stargazer crap at all with a bit of closure? Like what happened to our friends, crew members, fleet we brought up together. Knowing that my beloved friend Tali have a home on Rannoch, maybe even married to Garrus, Wrex kicking ass and taking names while bringing krogan to glory, Ash becoming an admiral in Alliance etc., I would be happy.

*I know i skipped the part that Shepard murdering organics by blowing mass relays to hell but, I'm counting on some alterations as i mentioned before.
