@Logistics

I personally think that is a bit far of a strech, seeing as how that would be incredibly pompous to start putting blatant christian allusions in the real world. Plus not everyone is christian or even knows what the actual beliefs are.

Thanks.  I also apologize somewhat for my shouting at the one guy.  However, even I have my breaking point.

@JessicaMerizan
as a fan, I like the indoctrination theory and it's definitely how I perceive at least one of my playthroughs.

Seriously ?!?!
No one can just say flat out:
YES or NO

I hope that they will tell us tomorrow.

Because saying YES or NO would ruin it. So obviously, the answer is YES. This is all I needed to read. I.T. is true, and this free DLC will clarify that. Then later, after everyone has calmed their junk, they will release paid DLC letting you help Aria take back Omega. The end.

@MrBlazenGlazen yes but with some sacrifices depending on the end you chose. Ending is never perfect but Shep/crew reunited is possible :)

Bumping. This needs to be seen.

Being able to reunite with your crew, when we have no way of knowing where they crashed, and no Mass Relays
to reach them even if we did know, somehow makes even less sense than the current endings.

more proof for IT then. :)

I think people have the right to be enraged right now. We were blatently lied to about being listened to. Its rather insulting and I'm pretty damn pissed off at the moment. It is clear they had no intention of listening to our complaints, and would rather spout an "artistic integrity" BS excuse than actually listen to our feedback.

I'm sorry you're enraged. I'm pretty happy about all of the news that has been coming out of BioWare (including the replies I've seen on Twitter). I have faith in BioWare. I also have patience. I think people are overreacting really badly right now. They haven't even experienced the free DLC that explains the ending, or any of the additional DLC that was planned, but they are uninstalling and writing off BioWare immediately.

A bunch of people are throwing temper tantrums because they think they aren't getting their way. In reality, they don't even know what's coming yet. I feel like they need to stop and think for a moment. Maybe they actually have a great explanation that will blow all of our minds. Regardless of what anyone might think, they do read all of the feedback. If they didn't BioWare wouldn't be so confident about the upcoming DLC pleasing their fanbase. As someone who works in game development, I can tell you with absolute certainty that game developers pay attention to what fans say about the games they make. They care more than you think they do.

The ball is in your court Bioware. Don't let us down.

Also and this is directed at EA. Think twice before shouting from the rafters about MP DLC. The MP DLC is fun but when a game was created and made on the back of a single player story MP will always feel shoehorned in. While the level of displeasure at the endings, adding more MP and making it a hugh announcement would leave a really bad taste in a lot of peoples mouth.

I keep running into this and can't believe people aren't making the connection. 'It's becoming harder and harder to keep faith...."

Now...think about what today's date is. Maundy Thursday. Think about what happened on that date. Then start thinking about how many allusions the game has to Christian imagery and I think you'll make the connection.

I'm confused sir. Enlighten us on the connection.

Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus said to them, "You will all become deserters because of me this night; for it is written,
'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

32 But after I am raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee."

33 Peter said to him, "Though all become deserters because of you, I will never desert you." 34 Jesus said to him, "Truly I tell you, this very night, before the **** crows, you will deny me three times." 35 Peter said to him, "Even though I must die with you, I will not deny you." And so said all the disciples.

The game is full to the brim with Christian allusions. What better trick to play on the more ardent fans of the series then to have us play the role of the disciples. I don't think it was mere happenstance that this is playing out during Holy Week and particularly near Easter. Bioware released this press snippet a day before a major gaming convention. Suddenly everyone starts Doubting their convictions even though the actual announcement is rather vague....

I'm willing to admit I may be overthinking things, but the sheer number of clues to the IT theory are just too pervasive for me to think otherwise. I think Bioware is manipulating it's fan base like a harp, and we're all dancing to the same tune as 12 disciples 2000 years ago. That's what Bioware means by 'Artistic Vision'. Social engineering on a grand scale and in the service of a story. Tomorrow will tell the story presumably - or perhaps Sunday, that being Easter of course. I suppose I'll have to eat my hat if I'm wrong.

You could make the same connections to almost any text in the world if you put your mind to it.

So tell me what did the IT theory say was going to happen after Shepard woke up.

IT is about explain everything about the ending. To make sense and logic.

correct?

OK.

At the ending of the game, Shepard wake up and the game is over correct?

BioWare says that Mass Effect 3 is the last game of Shepard. There isn't a Mass Effect 4 beginning with Shepard wake up.

The Reapers still there... the Citadel still there... the crucible still there.

is it a ending for you?

No

The DLC will give to us the continuation from where the IT stopped.

Not anymore.

What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.

Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard's story.

so... it's over.

Mass Effect 3 was the last game that I bought from BioWare.
Never more.

Uh.. dude I asked you what happens after shepard wakes up according to the It and you didn't answer my question and by doing so you proved my point. The Indoctrination theory IS NOT about changing the ending in any way, shape or form. It is expanding on the ending after Shepard waked up in the rubble.

You even said yourself "What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3."

To me the indoctrination theory fits what you describe perfectly.

I know what is IT dude. Probably I know more then you. But isnt a point here.
The point is that you dont want to see the facts.
So you really really.. I mean... really really expects see Shepard wake up and, in some way, destroy the reapers as a film? because you will not be able to play.
Like... 10 mim of CG? or 10 mim of cutscente?

This is what you expect?

They denied the IT? No.
But the response of the Bioware... IT becomes very very very... I mean... very very very unlikely.

I already knew that dumb crap.  Thanks for making my point.  To beat indoctrination in It you HAVE TO CHOOSE DESTROY!  That's idiotic.  They are not going to retcon the choices so only one allows you to actually win.  How is this hard to understand.  It turns two choices that currently are victories into failures and leaves everyone with one choice to make.  How you see that as a good idea is beyond me.

The FAQ clearly states they are NOT changing the endings.  They are ALL still victories.  They are not retconning anything.

Bioware said before the game came out that it was possible for the Reapers to win, though.

IT not only provides them with a way to make the current endings make sense, but also a way to make it seem like they didnt lie to us about the endings as much as it currently seems they did.

Please show me that quote.

And IT doesn't make anything make sense.  Indoctrination doesn't work that way.  On top of that there is no bigger cop out than the "it was all a dream" ending.

Just finished reading the news! To me I take this as the indoctrination theory is more possible than ever, I'm glad to be a part of it since the first 50 pages. Impossible to keep up with the amazing posting speed sometimes but it's been quite the ride! Let's see if we can dig more up before summer, and even if it's confirmed not the theory. I'm looking forward to seeing Bioware's ideas to flesh it out.

I'm sure if I worked at it hard enough, I very well could. But we have been playing a Shepard this whole time, who went to Afterlife and Purgatory, and who seemingly Sacrifices himself during the final ending. Given all that, I don't think it's a bridge too far.
