I'm thinking, Bioware were brilliant with species mating. Just because they are sentient creatures, doesn't mean they can produce fertile offspring together. Even the Asari, don't actually exchange genetic material.
And yet in the last 5 minutes we're expected to believe that a galaxy wide genetic fusion/change thing can occur :S

really? i have never been disappointed by children and im a 2nd and 3rd grade math tutor for seperation children. maybe my expectations are not as high as yours. the disappointments usually start to come with 12 years of age.

anyways, you can call me stupid if you want, but i believed the child. i felt like i had no reason not to.

Well, they never told us they would disclose new content specifically at PAX. Actually it was like: here more from us in April and a lot of "this is going to be big" statements and since there was this panel at PAX, everybody assumed they would use that opportunity (which they still might - but that chance is pretty low).

However, it will be interesting to see how they talk themselves out of the "keep your savegames", "if you only knew what we're up to" when they actually release only a couple of additional cutscenes.

Seriously, the whole thing just makes me want to punch Casey and friends like Shepard punches al-Jilani.

A catalyst is something that quickens action in chemistry, like make a glue harden within minutes instead of hours, it creates heat. Has nothing to do with intelligence or control.

I just....Hugh it's too stupid of a reason to be true. lolol. : P

I have a far easier time believing that the child isn't the catalyst at all but the shape of the voice of the Reapers inside Shepard's head.

Hmm. I thought the kid was the Crucible, and the Citadel was the Catalyst. Therefore, the Citadel provided the energy required for the kid to perform his space-magic.

Definition of Crucible: 
A place or occasion of severe test or trial: "the crucible of combat". 

I should note: I believe the kid, the Crucible, TIM, Anderson, and everything after the big laser is all in Shep's mind. But we will see come this summer.

Makes more sense if the citadel is the crucible as it is a place.

Because either the reapers used sheps memories to materialize in to something shep had a connection with, or the most recent memory that had the most impact, on top of her mind and was the first thing the reapers could grab.

Or shep used her own memory to make sense of things and fill in holes like she/he did in the Geth VR.
