I mean jessica Merizan was saying teasing things that hinted about the IT. RE: The bullet wound, maybe intentional by the devs? Etc...

Guyyyysss why won't you understand. They're not going to give us a definitive canon ending. Can't you see? Their #1 goal for this ending was ALWAYS "speculation," Mac Walters said it himself. They won't prove IDT any more than they will disprove it. The only thing they're going to do with this ending is explain what the "face value" ending means so that it becomes a more viable/believable option. I think they want us to debate whether Shepard was indoctrinated or not in the last scenes, but never really know. Afterall, they were even planning to have a scene with Shepard indoctrinated but they cut it out because the logistics of not being able to control Shepard but still controlling conversation choices were too complicated to implement.

Long story short: your pet theories will not be squashed by this DLC. They just want to differentiate the endings for those people who want to take it at face value. I just can't see them giving us a hard fast ending. I don't know why everyone is getting so down about this. The ending of ME3 is that there is no ending. Shepard's fate is up to your imagination. :wizard:

But I paid for a conclusion of the series, I did not pay for a video game that sorta ends and is up to my imagination to conclude it

Personally I like the ambiguity, I think it makes it more interesting to mull over. Don't get me wrong, the ending as it is BLOWZ. But I think if they explained wtf the "real" ending even IS it would make it much more palatable.

That said, that's just my preference. I can't blame you for wanting an actual end, and I think you're in the majority. I didn't mean to defend Bioware's "artistic" choice, I'm just asserting that that is the choice they made. Speculation for EVERYBODY.

Ummm... Would've loved to, but apparently that would be compromising 'Artistic Integrity'...

EDIT: or...

... I think they meant Rannoch...

DOUBLE EDIT: Accidentally snipped the pic...

And THAT is the absolute, bottom line point.

Did I see someone say IT isn't canon? Last time I checked, Indoctorination IS canon considering its mentioned almost every 20 minutes in game it seems. I'm tired of all the fair weather "supporters" floating about in this topic.

Indoctrination, and all references made to it, are Canon. The way the Indoctrination Theory has been structured and compiled, and the associated interpretation of the in-game references, is exactly that - an Interpretation. IT is NOT canon.

I don't think even byne (op) would argue that The Indoctrination Theory is canon (correct me if I'm wrong, byne).

All interpretations of the ending are valid. The only Canon ending can be what the creators say it is.

Meh, I'm still split on whether or not I think it was Bioware's original intention. Havent really made up my mind yet.

to me since indoctorination itself is canon it makes absolutely no sense for the reapers not to use their "best weapon" on Shepard and just let him/her walk in and push the kill button.

Joker demands to speak to the owner about this. The godchild approaches and ignores Joker's complaints.

He instead gives Joker three choices: blue, green and red.

Blue: Harbinger puts up an umbrella to protect Joker from the sun. Then the resort explodes.

Green: Harbinger and Joker fuse into one being that is impervious to the sun. Then the resort explodes.

Red: Joker would rather be sunburnt then accept help from Harbinger. He later discovers he has developed skin cancer but it doesn't matter because the resort explodes.

lol and then Joker wakes up in his pool chair, realizing he fell asleep.
Then a child comes over and says: "Joker, I am missing my cat, can you help me?"
Joker says: "oh sure kiddo, whats ur cats name?"
The child replies "ilyst"
Joker's dream flashes before his eyes as he picks up the child and throws him into the pool.
Then goes to get an exttension corde and a toasterPosted Image

Perhaps joker and crew played a part in that.  Would explain why they are trying to get the hell out of dodge.

Huh. One thing I just realized. During the dream sequence after Tuchanka, I dont think Shepard was even asleep.

Right after the dream sequence ends, Shep gasps, and then turns off a datapad she was holding in her hands.

Seems like she was daydreaming or something.

The background didnt even look like she was in her bed, looked more like she was on the couch.

Agreed. Speculative endings are ****ing retarded. If I wanted to make up my own ending, I'd write a goddamn fanfic myself. Trying to justify the catastrophe of an ending we have now would be simply pissing on Mass Effect's grave. Nothing will make these endings, especially synthesis, anything more than mindless space magic at the end of a series that's been otherwise fantastic about a scientifically reasonable story. And if they only imply IT but never follow through on it, then the series will be forever unfinished because, hello, the Reapers are still out there and with what we currently know, they're going to win!
They want to leave some side parts of the story to speculation that's fine. But not the Reaper war. That is utterly unacceptable. So as I see it IT is the only thing they can do to salvage the series. It's the only way the current "endings" make a lick of sense and leaving it mere speculation only gives us a choice between "space magic" and "Reapers win".

That said, I'm not sure I believe a single word coming from Bioware. I'll believe actual content. We've been given so many lies that I'm going through 50 pound bags of salt for grains to take everything they say with. From contradictory claims to outright lies, you can take whatever viewpoint you want and find a petabyte of quotes from BW employees to back it up. These endings are the "artistic" intention, huh? After telling us "It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C."? The rachni will play a major part for good or ill? You'll be able to get the best ending without multiplayer? We'll get answers to everything including Prothean and Reaper questions? IT was the only way that Bioware could've not been completely full of crap with all the hyping up for ME3. The. Only. Way. And now "this was the artistic vision"? Excuse me if I run out to the store for another truckload of salt. I'm sure I'm going to need it when news from PAX hits.

So I have officially come out and apologised for my part in pushing IT as truth here:
http://social.biowar...ndex/11058193/1
There aren't many that were hoping it was real more then me. Today's announcement has left me extreamly sad and dissapointed. I kinda feel like i'm losing a friend. I don't think I can follow Bioware through this anymore.

At this point, I lean more toward it was intended when the game was first being made, hence all the clues that were put in. However, by the time release date came around they couldn't figure out how best to implement it so they left the clues in for speculation, but removed the actual event of it happening.

That's what it seems more like to me.
