Agreed. Speculative endings are ****ing retarded. If I wanted to make up my own ending, I'd write a goddamn fanfic myself. Trying to justify the catastrophe of an ending we have now would be simply pissing on Mass Effect's grave. Nothing will make these endings, especially synthesis, anything more than mindless space magic at the end of a series that's been otherwise fantastic about a scientifically reasonable story. And if they only imply IT but never follow through on it, then the series will be forever unfinished because, hello, the Reapers are still out there and with what we currently know, they're going to win!
They want to leave some side parts of the story to speculation that's fine. But not the Reaper war. That is utterly unacceptable. So as I see it IT is the only thing they can do to salvage the series. It's the only way the current "endings" make a lick of sense and leaving it mere speculation only gives us a choice between "space magic" and "Reapers win".

That said, I'm not sure I believe a single word coming from Bioware. I'll believe actual content. We've been given so many lies that I'm going through 50 pound bags of salt for grains to take everything they say with. From contradictory claims to outright lies, you can take whatever viewpoint you want and find a petabyte of quotes from BW employees to back it up. These endings are the "artistic" intention, huh? After telling us "It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C."? The rachni will play a major part for good or ill? You'll be able to get the best ending without multiplayer? We'll get answers to everything including Prothean and Reaper questions? IT was the only way that Bioware could've not been completely full of crap with all the hyping up for ME3. The. Only. Way. And now "this was the artistic vision"? Excuse me if I run out to the store for another truckload of salt. I'm sure I'm going to need it when news from PAX hits.

Yeah i dont believe much of what they say anymore either... How can companies get away with lying to their fans by promising things that get the fans hopes WAAAAAAAAAYYYY UP, Lionware has done the same sh*t with the fable games... its not right. but to be completely honest with you, i am not giving up on bioware until i see this "free DLC" afterwards i will make my judgement and decide if i will ever look at another mass effect game/dlc let alone anything that Bioware makes again.

Meh, I'm still split on whether or not I think it was Bioware's original intention. Havent really made up my mind yet.

At this point, I lean more toward it was intended when the game was first being made, hence all the clues that were put in. However, by the time release date came around they couldn't figure out how best to implement it so they left the clues in for speculation, but removed the actual event of it happening.

That's what it seems more like to me.

That probably when the came up with "speculation for everyone". Correct me if I'm wrong.

Again... The point this is missing: changing the ending would mean it didn't have any special meaning thus disproving the IT by default. As it stands at the moment everything is open, the only difference is that we now know we can expect a DLC where BioWare tries to show us the intention.

No, because if the whole ending was Indoctrination then Shepard would wake up back on Earth and we'd be back to square one. Henceforth they'd need to add new gameplay, not just new cinematics. Thus IT is disproved.

There aren't many that were hoping it was real more then me. Today's announcement has left me extreamly sad and dissapointed. I kinda feel like i'm losing a friend. I don't think I can follow Bioware through this anymore.

I still don't think Indoctrination Theory is false, or at least I still think there's more to the ending then what we see. The one solid piece of evidence we have is "Shepard's breath" at the end of the "good" destroy ending. It's hard to believe there's nothing after that, otherwise why would it be there?

I suppose we'll all know more once the Extended Cut comes out. Either way, I've enjoyed this game from the start of the trilogy, even the bittersweet endings.

That's the scene that keeps the largest part of my hope alive. They left that in intentionally. No one would have been the wiser if it had been removed and there is 0 reason to keep it in other than to say "Pay attention to me!"

What did I miss besides Jessicas "no DLC announcement" tweet?

Someone posted a whole line of BW tweets. Maybe some one can bump that for you. This morning an interview came up on EA & BWs web pages that started a fire storm and brought the trolls running. Other than that we have been cycling through the various stages of grief and talking about pizza. I think they go together.

There are a few different ways to interpret the ending.. and indoctrination theory is one of those ways.. as well as taking it at face value. They said the extended cut still leaves room for interpretation. So.. i do think that the "hints" of the indoctrination attempt were placed there intentionally as to create such speculation.

I am still hopeful that IT is true in some way.

Lol true, but that was rly geared to the anti IT trolls that thought today's announcement conclude IT's demise.

I'm asking because I took Javik and Alenko, but during the Normandy crash Kaidan walks out of the ship after Joker and EDI... I was like.... You're dead...??

They're only dead if your EMS is low.

If they die Im fairly sure you can see them on the ground as you walk toward the beam

If your EMS is low enough; when you wake up from getting hit by Harbinger's beam, instead of 4 dead alliance  grunts and 1 crawler infront of you you see your 2 squadmates with 2 of the dead alliance grunts + the crawler. As I understand it you also only get the choice of the "default" destroy ending which isn't the same as the good  "destroy" one.

With high enough EMS I've always seen at least one of my squadmates come out of the Normandy crash, or my love interest or both (I took my love interest with me each time I went through the ending).
