that doesnt sound good
That or they are "oh crap they're onto us." It's still a vague wording and it looks like they are trying to hide something. Might just be me seeing things when theres none to be found but Im told Im chronically optimisitic

Dude, the "um" says it all. Read it again.

This can go either way. Again it´s not much of an answer.
It could mean that IT isn't true, and that they're not saying anything because it's so popular that to say anything against it would send fans into an even bigger freak out.
It could also mean that IT is true, and that they're not saying anything because they don't want to spoil the DLC.
PR at it's finest, folks.

Or maybe he was just thinking about HOW to phrase this so he wouldn't have to say definitively yes or no.

that doesnt sound good
Folks: let's be honest here. That's not good.
IT, "um," demonstrating "the commitment of the fanbase" is a comment in it of itself, and we know it. He basically just said that it is an invention of passionate fans, free to interpret the game any way they'd like.
If the "extended cut" were going to incorporate IT, then the only answer to that question would be "wait and see." Instead he tells us that he doesn't want to prescribe an interpretation.
Bottom line: he doesn't want to tell us IT is "wrong," but it pretty clearly wasn't intended.
Damn.
