So, now that I've gushed over lex0r11, is it safe now? Things were getting scary on the forum last night with the amount of hate. Normally I'd try to calm things down, but . . . that was a "get into the basement" storm, in my view.

Were you here Thurs. morning? Was it as bad as that? cuz IMO that was a full on TROLL INVASION.

I feel we where under heavy troll fire ever since the DLC announcement.

Feels good to enjoy the silence for a while.

Was there anything in the announcement that was different from the artical that started the Thurs. morning war.

No, I don't think so. It basically just stated that at some point in summer they will release a DLC free of charge. They promise it will clarify things and provide closure.

Reminded me instantly of politicians who keep reiterating that they need to "communicate" their decisions better - but in the whole ending debate, Bioware seems a lot like these politicians, anyway.

I just got around telling my girlfriend about this whole indoctrination business over lunch and she said i was crazy.

Then i thought about all the stuff i posted here for 1000 pages and had to smile a little and it went like:

[...]

Well, looking at it from that perspective, it's actually good that I my last relationship is over for a while - I'm pretty sure, she would also have declared me crazy ;) ... but then, it's a good form of madness :)

Really? Couldn't have been that bad, right? And her calling me crazy smiling is just fine.

There was some war started over a comment BioWare made on the indoc theory at PAX yesterday... a very vague comment. People got up in arms over the term "um" being a sign of the theory being debunked.

And because they called us "committed"

Say did they ever blatently come out and say that "The Truth" DLC was false? I know they did that for "Terminator" and "Mass Shift" but did they ever say that about "The Truth"?

::cue Depeche Mode song::

(And lord, do I hope there are people here who get that reference.)

I do. Although there are times when I wish I wouldn't ... DM seems to be a bit like the reapers - it just keeps cycling on every gothic and 80s party you attend.

YES, score! I don't feel like a fossil! :wizard:

And you can't hate on the classics, man. They get overplayed because they're so much better than a lot of the stuff out now . . . okay, I better stop before I inadvertantly start a 30 yr olds vs. teenagers flame war. :D

So . . . what are we going to discuss until the DLC is released? I hope it's not just going to be fending off rude people until then.

Yeah, about that . . . I heard that there was a question of whether it was "um" or "again." Was that ever clarified? Did any audio recordings show up?

I don't know whether or not it's useful to post here considering what the Extended Cut DLC is about.
I hope there is more onto it than what was announced, but I doubt it.
Anyways, something that just crossed my mind and probably was said before, about the "Crucible was destroyed" game over screen:
Is it just me or does it make no sense ?
As far as we know, Starchild wants to find a new solution with Shep, and as we heard of him, he controls the Reapers.
So why exactly would he let the Reapers destroy the Crucible if his current solution won't work anymore and needs to find a new one ?

I can't help but realize that a lot of these anti-IT people are two things.

1. Arrogant. "Oh you guys are just fooling yourselves. Maybe if you were actually like me and could just admit that BioWare screwed up, maybe then I'd give you a chance to speak."

2. Extremely rude. Just look at what some of them say, one guy compared us to down-syndrome people essentially.. classy. Not to mention the Intoxication theory people who seem to think they're funny.

To be fair to anti-IT folks, we only see the worst ones here (in this thread I mean). The reasonable ones who respect others' opinions wouldn't come here to begin with.
And yeah, the "intoxication theory" thing is a black hole of humor. If George Carlin knew these guys when he was growing up, he'd have wound up being an accountant.

Honestly, I don't do the intoxication thing to be rude, although I recognise it's rude as satire is rude. And I certainly don't do it under the impression that it should amuse anyone besides myself.

Personally it's more that the alternative would be snapping at people, and I don't like snapping at people. I never had a problem with IT -- on the contrary, it was and still is interesting to see the support and depth of arguments made in its favour. What I had a problem with was seeing people moving from treating it as theory and opinion to promoting it as fact which should become my opinion, suggesting I should open my eyes. That's not a reflection on everyone, of course, but it's wearing nonetheless. Satirising these people is not the nicest thing to do, I know, but I choose that over flaming them personally as a way to handle the frustration.

So yes, just saw this and wanted to respond. I like to think I'm reasonable otherwise, and no I don't come here often. Did ask a question once -- never got a response, but that tallies with my general experience of the internet as a whole, so you're off the hook for that one. ;)

Yeah, let's not do it and instead listen to some nice music from the 80s ;) ... like Iron Maiden .

Re. discussion - my best bet is that we try a wrap up of IT (with a couple of FAQs :)). As I said a few dozen pages before, I really appreciate ITs elegance - would be a shame if that get's lost. However, I didn't check lately how much is already there over a the Theoryhub site.

It was both, actually ... I saw a Youtube recording where I understood "shows again how, um, commited our fanbase is".

So its true then, the indoc theory is untrue. thats a shame.
just found this article http://gamerant.com/...ct-3-jw-142249/
says that the dlc will not change the ending or be a re-imagining, if its not a re-imagining then its not the indoc theory

My thought was that he just didn't want to say "how observant our fanbase is"...that would have completely given everything away. so he gave it a thought. Hence, the "um"

Totally possible. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance that there thought's are either "wow, they are pretty clever" and "wow, there are pretty annoying".

I don't get it. How does this disprove the indoctrination theory? If Bioware isn't changing the ending and the IT is canon, that just means IT stays canon.
