There was some war started over a comment BioWare made on the indoc theory at PAX yesterday... a very vague comment. People got up in arms over the term "um" being a sign of the theory being debunked.

And because they called us "committed"

They started trolling over ... um... ? And say they our evidence is thin. Holy plot Batman, thats crazy. We're committed. They're committable.

Yeah, about that . . . I heard that there was a question of whether it was "um" or "again." Was that ever clarified? Did any audio recordings show up?

It was both, actually ... I saw a Youtube recording where I understood "shows again how, um, commited our fanbase is".

I think it's so funny that people would actually go and debate over the word "um". There is very little to nothing to be proven or drawn from that tiny syllbale. lol :P

So its true then, the indoc theory is untrue. thats a shame.
just found this article http://gamerant.com/...ct-3-jw-142249/
says that the dlc will not change the ending or be a re-imagining, if its not a re-imagining then its not the indoc theory

Changing the ending would be doing away with the ending completley.

Re-imagining would be changing little things about the ending but keeping it intact.

They aren't doing either. They're explaining and expanding on the current ending. Which is to say if it didn't really happen, then that needs to be clarified.

My thought was that he just didn't want to say "how observant our fanbase is"...that would have completely given everything away. so he gave it a thought. Hence, the "um"

Yeah I always figure when somebody avoids a yes or no question the way they did it usually indicates that its a yes.

After all has anyone noticed that bioware has most  of everyone else thought they'd do with the ending from teh 4th option to the "rescue" DLCs yet they haven't once talked in detail about the indoctrination theory

Calling us commited could be praising us without actually saying so for all we know.

Being committed is a good thing. I am committed to my girlfriend, I am committed to my football team, I am committed to my career. " It just shows again how .. um .. committed our fan base is." etc. etc.

@IronSabbath88 If we dont make any sudden movements and keep the troll feed in the bag then the troll will just move on to another thread...... Their creatures that require recognition so give it none.

Say did they ever blatently come out and say that "The Truth" DLC was false? I know they did that for "Terminator" and "Mass Shift" but did they ever say that about "The Truth"?

All they said was "Do you think we would actually call it "the truth"? Never acually said anything more abuot it other then the name.

IT is not reimagining or changing the actual endings, it explains them and extends them :)

Funny story,  I was playing MP with a guy from AU and he mentioned the Truth DLC as well as the Resurgence pack.  he even told me about the Geth, Batarian, and Krogan Battlemaster characters you can play as.  And keep in mind this was mere days after the games release.  I'd say a week at best.  If he knew about the Resurgence pack and "The Truth" DLC and one of them turned out to be correct, does that at least leave hope for the other?

What are "terminator" and "Mass Shift" ? Similar rumoured DLCs?

Complete rubbish, the biggest give away was "Hanar and Elcor squadmates" Somethingthat Bioware wouldn't attempt because those characters would be to hard to animate.

The Hanar would be OP anyway since it can quadruple wield weapons ;)

Not  really. When asked about "the Truth" a while back, they replied along the lines of, "Do you really think we'd name something that corny?"

Actually in that mission where you have to rescue some Elcor people I was excited to see how their soldiers look like, but it turned out to be a stupid probe mission >_<

interesting, so it could still be true. Well thats good,
although if theres no new gamplay element, wont that make it hard for the indoc theory to be true,
without it we'll kust be watching shep kick butt, thats a bit naff, but better than what we have at the moment

I think it would be A LOT harder to explain the literal ending than it would be to incorporate the IT ... if they weren't already in the process of doing so *fingers crossed* :pinched:
