Well, the problem with it is now I am to the point, where if the extended cut DLC is what they're saying it's going to be, and even if it doesn't incoporate IT in any way, it's enough for me to be able to live with it, but for me Mass Effect will be damaged, ever after unless it IS IT, or a really damn good explanation they didn't pull directly out of their asses.

But, is is so wrong that after the minor disappointment, and watching all the flak they caught for DA2, that I want Bioware to be brilliant? Goddamn EA, you guys really keep shooting yourselves in the foot with these damn rush jobs, STOP ****ING DOING IT. I want to keep liking Bioware, I love the company, I love the people, I love the games and the characters and the stories, I want to see more of them, I want to enjoy Mass Effect both journey AND end, I want this to continue to be a franchise on par with Asimov's writing, to be played 50 years down the road, remastered time and again, not have the storyline Rembrandt of Mass Effect 3 ruined by the videogame equivalent of Highlander 2.

I am just sick of the conflicting messages. They tell me to have hope and they're not killing IT, only for my hope to get quashed and rekindled again, they tell me things aren't ruined, but I can't see how they'll undo the tarnish upon ME's name, they can always make more, and I am fairly certain I will enjoy them, but this will remain the elephant in the room if nothing is done. They give with one hand and take with the other right now, the game says something is wrong, and all of it seems far too intentional to be an accident, they say they want people to draw their own conclusions, and yet give closure all at the same time, they give all these hints giving hope, but all these press releases quashing it.

I just don't know what to think now. I'm just.. so tired...

I should be sad that i wasn't able to motivate one of my fellow Mass effect fans, but that would be too selfish in this case.

Anyways, i couldn't find a motivational with words for this post but i fully support it and hope you will accept my friend request.

I'm right on the verge of not caring anymore. And listening to 'Leaving Earth' and 'An End Once and For All' has me on the verge of being on the verge of man-tears.
I dig that salute img, lex0r. I remember now you had posted it the other night while I was at work, but by the time I got home I'd forgotten to hop on and say thanks then. Curse my rotting memory. So thanks :D

That's right.

I have a 'HOLD THE LINE' picture in this thread with him.

Hey all I'm just sitting here in a Ryokan close to Mount Fuji and still holding the line and I will keep on holding it.

Cause no matter what scars you bear, whatever uniform you wear, you can fight like a Krogan, run like a leopard, but you will never be better than Commander Shepard.

Remember that!

They haven't denied the gameplay aspect of the Extended Cut. They have only promised cutscenes and cinematics. With gameplay added in, IT is very possible. IT doesn't require the ending to be changed, it only requires an expansion.

IT also requires  lot of tweeking to the current ending to fit. Tacking on IT now wont work because of the plotholes that still exist. But who knows what this DLC will apply. They kind of  said that no gameplay would be added only that the current ending would get enhanced. So I wouldn't expect to have Shepard wake up and then play from that point on.

IT doesn't require any tweaking.  There aren't any plotholes if you subscribe to it - as the parts of the game people point to (joker fleeing/crash landing/relays overloading), these are all in Shepards mind.  They're not actually happening.

You can easily add cinematics without actual gameplay that make IT more obvious to people that still take the ending at face-value.

Shephard is pretty much toast at that point, IF there's gameplay maybe you're able to play as your LI or squad member.

I really hope BW will come up with somthing pretty good.. but if they keep the "You still need to imagin most of the ending, to be satisfied." I will be very dissappointed... and I somhow get the impression.. they wanna keep the ending as open as possible to press some more money out of the Shepard-Cow...

Just watched this vid. Thought for sure I saw the link in this thread, but looking back I don't. Anyway. Epic.

The guy says he's harsh on IT... but I
didn't see that. We wouldn't need IT if they hadn't fallen asleep on the
line in the first place. IT is catharsis, that's all. Whether true or
not, it's just for us to cope with this miserable ending. If they
introduce a retcon ending big enough that IT isn't needed, zip zam zoob,
it's gone. Simple. But that's precisely what won't happen. Good job on that one, duders.

Personal preference is for IT to have been part of the plan all along. But when taken with all the rest of the stuff that doesn't make sense, as you'll see in the video, I just don't know.

If the theory was correct, why would the reapers not switch the colors of the left and right side in the room where the final choice is depending on weather or not shep is paragon or renegade? If the reaper's made the control choice more visually pleasing for a paragon by making it blue to symbolize "Good" and the destroy option red to symbolize chaos or "Don't choose this." Why would the reapers not switch the colors for a renegade shep, such that red is control and blue is destroy. It makes sense both ways, and it would further prove that the reaper's were trying to trick shep into picking control to indoctrinate him/her. Would this not happen if it was bioware's true intent?

More evidence for Indoctrination Theory,

My Shepard had her whole family and friends slaughtered like animals back on Mindoir.....
She didn't get traumitized or have ****ed up dreams about those people then. Why now?

Don't say war because that's a cop-out. If she's strong enough to not be traumitized then she wouldn't be now.

I don't think that's somthing you can use as evidence. My Shep for example had his whole squad slaughterd at Akuze and he doesn't "dream" of it.  He only somtimes talks of it, that it still troubles him.

But I think the SPace Brat dream sequences were added with a purpose.. and not only to show Sheps inner struggle cause he lost so much people...

Byne said as much a while back, and what it comes down to is this: not only did Mindoir not break Shepard, but Shep was a teen back then. As in much more susceptible to emotional trauma. S/he can only have gotten stronger in the interim, more able to deal with whacked-out crazy stuff like that.

Yeah you would think Shep would have nightmares about losing Mordin/Ash
or Kaiden or who ever you lost but instead you're chasing after a kid.

my guess is that it could be a reverse switch, a renegade would probably try to control the reapers like the illusive man, in me2 most renegade choices with the illusive man were about agreeing with him and cerberus...to a point.
it's trying to trick paragons with the color of the choice and trying to trick renegades with the content of the choice, don't know if i'm making myself clear enough:P
