Why did my Paladin turn into a Carnifex?

One thing I just noticed (I'm at the ending on my current playthrough), the Carnifex you pick up seems to be the same Carnifex Anderson is holding right as you begin the charge to the Conduit.

Even if it isnt the same Carnifex, its kind of odd that Anderson is clearly shown with a Carnifex before you begin the charge, but on the Citadel, the gun TIM takes from Anderson is a Predator

Just watched some "debunking IT" vids on YouTube... Seemed to support IT more as none of their "evidence" held up. One guy kept using the excuse that it's "convenience for videogames sake" argument. I watched a 14 minute video on why we're wrong on the child not existing at the start of the game... Only to be more sure that he doesn't exist.

It seems we have the more intelligent people supporting the IT theory and most of the "debunkers" seem to be trolling.

The debunking videos are an absolute joke. I find it hard to take any of them seriously. Especially that A80.. something guy.

He's made tons of videos trying to debunk it. It's almost laughable. Why are people so against a theory? Especially one that makes sense within the context of the universe.

I would like to be able to be respectful and say it's more of a "IT believers say 1 is less than 2, IT debunkers say 2 is less than 3" type situation where nobody is really "wrong" and it's just differing ideas, but at this point I don't think that's true anymore. IT seems too true to say it's just a differing idea now.

I'm not saying IT is right. Just that it fits and the evidence is sound. The debunkers seem to be trying to disprove IT evidence instead of actually providing evidence to the contrary.

I'm sure this has already been said, but also, when the Reapers say they harvest the most advanced species, that doesn't seem entirely true. They only seem to want to harvest humanity, what about the turians or salarians or asari or batarians or any of the other space-faring, advanced species? They aren't preserving advanced life if they only care about one species and try to kill off all the rest.

The best reason I could give is that Humans were the only race to get as far as they have, namely through Shepard.  Kind of racist of them.  Asari and Turians are just a tough.

I honestly think some of them are doing it just so, if IT isn't adopted, they can say they were "right"... I don't think any of us would object to an ending on par with IT if it makes sense, we're merely supporting a theory that makes A LOT of sense.

Exactly. I watched those too, and half way through I thought 'wait, is this for or against?'  Especially the one that tried to say that Anderson could not be in Sheps mind because Shep was wounded before he shot Anderson. WHAT? lol.

Exactly, the only reason I can think of is Shepard. And the whole "genetic diversity" thing, but I doubt that applied to every species that's been made into a dreadnaught.

Man, Harbinger is the worst shot ever.

I emptied all the thermal clips from my shotgun, pistol, and SMG right into him and he just keeps lasering random spots on the ground.

I spent the past minute spamming pull at him.

He keeps shooting the ground.

It must have insulted his family or something.

Yknow, in-between random bouts of shooting the ground, he's getting off 100% accurate shots on the rest of Hammer team charging the beam. None of this 'Hit the ground ahead of them and slowly move the laser towards them' nonsense. He hits them dead on and vaporizes them.

So its not like firing so many shots is hurting his accuracy...

Huh, I figured I should pick control, since this is my tenth playthrough, and I still havent chosen anything but destroy, and then I was convinced not to in the strangest way possible:

iTunes started playing "What Would Brian Boitano Do?"

I heard the lyrics:

When Brian Boitano travelled through time
To the year 3010,
He fought the evil robot king
And saved us all again

So I killed the evil god child with destroy. Because thats what Brian Boitano'd do.

I found it intresting that if you pick control or synthesis your siding with the "kid" and your body is burned up. This thought takes me back to shepards last dream where shepard is hugging the "kid" and burns up!

The thing that's really driving me nuts about IT is that if this were nearly any other industry, I'd just be assuming it's true at this point. That's coming from a narrative/publishing background.(yes, I mention it a lot, but I do have one and it's where a lot of my thoughts come from.) IT is what the narrative flow leads to. It's what the narrative supports.

But unlike books there's so much OTHER STUFF involved here. TWO game companies, a team of writers, the thing where he did the endings in secret, revised scripts....Gahhhhhh. This is so much easier in book publishing! There's one author usually! One! With mass effect it feels like there's all these big hands groping around in the story structure and I don't know what to make of it.
