Btw, just finished replaying 1 and 2. Isn't it a little convenient that Arrival (the ME3 prequel mind you) deals with the theme of indoctrination, has Shepard come into contact with a Reaper artefact, has him hallucinating, and also has Kenson spare Shepard's life because they "need him alive". Maybe I'm seeing what I want to see, but thought it was noteworthy.

Not sure of the authencicit, erm, authicinuytyyt-

I'm not sure if it's real.

Wow. A full HD image and there still ppl that doesn't believe in the IT?

:wizard:

Nah, they acknowledge the eye change.  They write it off as "cybernetic implants from Project Lazarus".  Even though it's known canon that TIM got his eyes from a Reaper artifact that almost husked his ass.

And they call US in denial when we don't write everything off after some vaguely worded statement from a writer or something.  IRONY.  SO.  MUCH.  IRONY.

Don't forget that Arrival also has multiple audio logs about how indoctrination was manifesting hard in their dreams.

In ME2 it is stated she WAS created from Reaper tech.

Jesus, do these people even play their own game?

Thought of this aswell, I wasn't the biggest fan of Arrival, but have since grown to appreciate it.
One of the things that pissed me off about it though, was that Shepard seemed immune to friggin indoctrination.

Another plus with IT, it makes Arrival better >:)

What if the scene where Shepard is alive at the end of mass effect 3 is when he turns into a zombie and a new threat rises = MASS INFECT 4

I don't understand why people pay attention to Jessica Merizan when her posts are inconsistent and appear as though she hasn't even played the series.

Actually, it's even mentioned in ME3.
In the Cerberus-HQ-Mission.
I think it's the second console where you can watch some movies.
The first of the movies, as far as I recall:

He did, and were it not for IT, I would very much like to know what Shepard did to seemingly walk off indoctrination in ME3.

Seriously, for those saying the things on Earth are cables, when the HELL are cables ever rigid and standing upright like that? They would be laying all over the place, not standing straight up. Look at the rebar, now look at the concrete affects near that rebar. Somebody posted a very good picture. It looks EXACTLY what we see in the ending. You can see smashed concrete everywhere on Earth and that exact texture is what we're seeing in the breath ending.

Who knows WHAT that metallic thing is, and personally it could be anything. I think people are paying too much attention to it. Could be anything.

I'm in favor of godchild.

I also saw someone call him Task Manager, because he lets you CTRL the Reapers, ALTer all life in the galaxy, or DELete all synthetics. I like that name too.

I personally prefer Star-Brat.

I'm wondering myself what's going on.  She seems like she plays the game and is a fan, and she definitely seems smart enough not to make a comment like that without doublechecking.  But on the other hand, that's a significant reveal and I can't see why it would be done via a twitter reponse from the CM.

Why is Merizan suddenly being so open as to why the ending should be taken literally, isn't she spoiling the EC?

We're onto you, BioWare.. you cannot fool us!

Does this mean that we can NOW stop looking at what Jess says as fact? Not only will she give you hope at one point just to crush it into the dirt but it seems as though she doesn't really think about what she tweets or doesn't recall major details from the game/real life (the Normandy landing on atmosphereless desert land Mars or single mooned Earth)

I think its safe to assume most of Jess' tweets are from the stand point of a fan and only of a fan any info digging from her will result in confusion and contradiction.

I don't see why beings of light are so impossible. I mean I expect the answer to be sentient energy matrix or computer projection or something, but the idea that a sufficiently advanced or alien civilization lies hidden from the reapers isn't so far fetched. Neither is a being composed of energy.

Personally, I can even stomach the ending at face value, if they make a few things clear,

1. The Child is merely Harbinger, manipulating you and lying through his metallic teeth in an effort for self-preservation
2. Joker has SOME reason to pick up the ground crew in a hurry and get the hell out of doge, leaving Shepard (whom I supposed the assumption can be made that they think he's dead) behind.
3.They make the explanation for Synthesis clear
4. The Canon ending they pick to build the universe off in future games is either control or destroy and synthesis gets left as a "what if".
5. They make it clear that TIM's motivation changed as a result of indoctrination (the reapers trying desperately to make themselves understood in an attempt to warn Shepard off so they can live.)

It's not perfect or great, it's not even paticularly good, and is more of a let down than anything else, but at least it doesn't poison the other games, and does nothing to explain Shep's eyes, the dreamlike state the ending seems to be in, or indeed a bunch of other things, but at least it fills in the plot holes.

1. Only possible if he trys to indoctrinate you.... otherwise it would make no sense at al.. cause if it is real.. he will be destroyed or controlled... Reapers don't want to be controlled...because they are supirior..

2. Joker would never run away... and he is fighting in Space.. he will never ever be able to get your crwe in time (not if you have the guys coming out of the Normandy in your crew at the beam)

3. Space Magic

4. only possible to some games bevore Shep or hundrets of years later or you keep to local clusters.. which would kill the thing Mass Effect is dedicated to.. like the Mass Relays..

5. TMI is indoctrinated.. that is even clear in the endings atm

I think stuff like this would open more plot wholes and don't even close them.

1. If it's a choice between being wiped out and being controlled by a force you consider inferior, one that you are sure you can overwhelm, making Shepard choose Control is a easy way out. No indoctrination required if they choose to go that route. I'm not saying that this is the case, and it certainly doesn't invalidate IT, but it IS the worst case scenario based off what they are saying, and I am playing devil's advocate to say "what they are saying, even if it isn't IT isn't so bad."

2. One, the crew COULD havve gotten to a shuttle themselves, and with an understanding of the coming ****storm (I know I don't understand how they would know, but at least it's a better plothole than "They teleported") decided to leave, Joker, not knowing what else to do, could just be trying to get out in a desperate attempt to save EDI.

3. More like technobabble, ask Javik about the synthetics they fought in HIS cycle, though that could also just be support for IDT, showing that synthetic organic fusion is possible.

4. The original ending, going off PAX statements and what was in the strategy guide (that was written with Bioware's help btw) as well as some twitter posts, the original choice was basically;

A). Sacrifice yourself, remove the Reapers from the equation and don't invalidate their technology, galactic civilization recovers in a few months or years since the relays are either not destroyed/are salvageable and quickly repaired or

B). Save yourself, you and your crew survive, you can get re-united with them, but the relays are destroyed and galactic civilization takes years or potentially decades to recover as the relays must be entirely rebuilt.

5. Obviously, I am saying, the IDT interpretation is that he is a personification of Shepard's indoctrinated mind, with Anderson being his willpower and Shepard himself personifying his Ego, but if the endings must be taken at face value, then they'll have to point out why it is his motivation 180'd from "You are unimportant to me, and not much more than an annoyance." to "I need you to agree with me, because your opinion matters."

Destroy ending means every synthetic life gets destroyed, be it reaper tech or not.

I don't trust Jessicas tweets anymore, honestly I think the reapers got to her. I stopped getting amped up about her tweets a hundred pages ago.
