Don't worry, his name is required for a summoning to happen.

I have been a long time lurker to this thread but have not posted often (or at all I don't recall), mainly because I read on my phone.

However several people have asked if someone could put together a comprehensive list of all the clues that have been brought to light so far.

I have taken it upon myself to undertake that task. My plan is for it to be an extremely thorough reference source for all elements of both the Indoctrination Theory and it's criticisms. Along with all the clues and related information from comments made by Bioware. It will source all it's information and include many images and links to related materials.

It probably will not be finished today but it is already well underway.

Just wanted to give people a heads up and something to look forward to. I should have the first version complete tomorrow and intend to keep it up to date and revised as need be.

Thanks and Hold the Line :)

Just a heads up on this for those waiting. It is looking like I will not finish it today due to me obsesily researching every part of it and sourcing as much as I can.

However it is coming along nicely, it's already well over 3000 words long and to be honest is probably not even half done yet.

Even when I finally post it, it will not be complete. I am sure as soon as people read it they will have lot's more for me to add that I have overlooked. Not to mention that massive additions/revisions it will require upon the release of the EC.

I am hoping to make it the definitive source for all Mass Effect 3 ending theories. Especiallly the Indoctrination Theory.

I've only seen you bring a few points to the discussion.

Usually you just roll in with a comment about our continued support of IT, seemingly from the standpoint that IT has been completely and irrefutably disproved - which it has not.

So, at what point exactly did Shepard lose contact with "reality"? Or : did he lose all contact with it, to the same amount all the way until he "breathes", or did he manage to do some "actions" after being zapped by Harby, seeing a "distorted reality" imposed to him by indoctrination?

Depends on your theory. I am in the camp that says Harbinger's beam is where the rabbit hole starts. Shepard is physically badly damaged, overstressed and emotionally a wreck by this point, the psychosomatic effects of his injuries simply put him over the edge.

I don't really have any "definite" theory of mine, I've been looking at all sides of these "endings" and games, but I still fail to put all pieces together in a convincing manner. I really think IT has a good chance of playing a strong part in what's happening, provided it allowes for Shepard to "act" somewhere between the moment he's hit by the laser, and the moment he "breathes".  I'm not convinced he remained on Earth all the time, I support the "theory" that he's waking up on the Citadel, after the "red structure" has been destroyed, since the 1st blast is some kind of space magic (does color really matter?) that just "pushes" stuff around without burning it. That could have "pushed" Shepard to a safe distance before the 2nd blast (the HOT one) occured. That doesn't erase any indoctrination influence, it only makes him act in a dreamlike state, fighting the Catalyst / Reaper in his distorted perception of reality, been offered "symbolic choices" through his opponent's eyes or minds.

oh, am i wrong? isnt that what you are doing? as soon as someone writes something against the idt you argue for an hour until he leaves and then you are proud of yourself, but if he stays, hes a troll.

you havent convinced me of anything, and im not one to let go. so all thats left is waiting it out until summer. but to make sure you havent come to your senses yet, i have to ask from time to time how the indoctrination camp is holding up.

I'm not playing any ME stuff until the ending. People may think it's childish or w.e. but I've got no motivation to play as the ending is terrible as it is. I don't play games to feel unhappy lol.

However, at least one of the older MP maps doesn't seem too good for multiplayer. It seemed way to open, with no way to defend yourself. I supose it's because when I play games, I try and find a safe spot where I can shoot people. In multiplayer everyone either has their own spot or else seem to like running right into the middle of enemies :
But really, that's not the fault of the map, just of the people I played with lol. 4 different people all playing a single player game together.

But yeah, how is the map bad for MP? Anything like I said being too open or what?

This thread is a good example.  Some of the hack spots in both maps make the reactor core in Firebase Reactor, which was previously generally considered the worst, look easy.  Again, Condor especially.  Despite the fact that the zone is chock full of areas for enemies to hide, there's very little for players to bunker down.  I got one in a hack objective where the cover wasn't high enough to block enemy fire.  Which means it isn't really cover.  There's also cover that IS high enough to act as cover, but you can't use it as cover.  You'll just do a roll into the wall if you try.

There is someone else staying here arguing against IT, but "he" is surprisingly not considered a troll.

Bummer.

I'm personally beginning to think that just the presence of Harbinger was enough for Shepard to start seeing things.  If he started hallucinating before the beam, that would explain the shrubs and trees from the dreams being there before the blast.  I do still think that he was only knocked out AFTER the beam.  I believe that he did get shot by Harbinger, and it did knock him out, weakening him enough for Harbinger to completely invade his mind.

Sometime ago someone posted a link to an old topic (like 7-8 months old) where a Bioware employee was talking about indoctrination and was basically saying poeple should bookmark this topic to not feel dumb when ME3 would come out.
Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe he was joking, but still, If somebody knows which topic I'm talking about and still has the link, if you'd be kind enough to post it, I just cant find it.

Nobody else notices the child but Shepard. Even when he gets on the transporter to escape before he gets blown up, he climbs in himself, nobody gives him a Jeremy Beadle.

As Shepard moves at the end and is in a pile of rubble....that tells you something else is up. If you look all around you and see the space, where are the pile of rocks he ends up buried in? The armour looks more burnt....and after getting hit by a reaper beam, that's also far more likely.

Indoctrination theory for sure

The difference between you and posters like G--he who shall not be named, is that they make an actual attempt to debate using logic.  You just come in and insult everyone and then start crying like a little child when people don't give you the respect you think you deserve.  Get over it, and get over yourself.  I don't know if you're intentionally trolling or if you're only doing it on accident because you really are that belligerent and self-important.  But I do know they're right: you ARE a troll.

Maybe he was refering to one of those "kid is a hallucination" threads.  That's right, there was speculation even before the game was out that the kid wasn't real.  I didn't think much of it at the time, but now...
