He wouldn't want to be prescriptive. He'd want the content to speak for itself.

Are you sure, I just see the URL.

I've been showing people this comic lately cuz it's hilarious and pertinent, and now gives me a chance to show off my new skill.

The URL is  clickable though, instead of having to copy and paste into a browser. But here it is in a word just to be sure.

PS funny comic!

Something similar to IT may of been done before.
MGS2 VR Theory
http://metagearsolid...r_theory_2.html

Basically MGS2 being a VR training programme/exercise. There is a lot more hinting, forshadowing and slap in your face quotes. Basically it's done well...it makes the gamer question whats happening but then you pretend its real anyway because you don't want it to be fake.

Quote if you think its good for others

Hmm just thought of something.

The Heretic virus Legion describes in ME2 sounds very much like subtle Indoctrination (Garrus even mentions this if you bring him along) in the way that it rewrites their base of judgement so that what seemed like a wrong choice seems like a right choice. Much the way Indoctrination screws with ones perception of right and wrong regarding the Reapers.

In ME3 EDI also mentions she is thinking that i other universes existed or if you went far enough you migt encounter a place where 1 + 1 = 3 and that such a change would make the place unrecgniceable to you as everything would be fundamentally different.

I dont know why but I just find EDI´s thoughts curious when you compare it to Legions talk of the Heretic virus. How making a simple "error" or change in basic understanding can have far reaching consequences, much the same way Indoctrination can be subtle in that it dosent necesarily change a persons personality, but only slightly alter his thoughts to lean more towards the Reapers.

Dont know why I suddenly thought of this and I am not trying to pose it as a piece of IT evidence, only that I found the similarities to Indoctrination curious.

Hey guys, nice to see the thread is still active. I haven't been following the last week or two and would appreciate if somebody could tell me if there is still hope for IT.

Has Bioware put confirmation on the subject - in one way or another? Thanks in advance!

A subtle error in judgement...

Like the assumption that what you see is real.

Thanks, mate. What do you mean by "beating around the bush"? Twitter feeds? I thought Bioware had announced that the extended ending would not change anything about the "artistic vision" of the team.

They said the ending would not change in the extended cut...just more closure, cutscenes and other key buzz words.
Does this mean starchild is still the end and there is no 'waking' from the rubble cos IT is false?

That could mean indoc theory is true but they can't be bothered to continue it from the rubble?

Did BW say they are not 'changing' the ending so when IT ending does come out people should assume that was the plan all along?

You can interpret that vague statement in many ways lol. No1 knows

Wouldn't it at least require some playable ending in case you'd picked "destroy"?

Maybe, but not necesarily. Plenty of people in this thread have allready come with potential scribts for the ending under the assumption of IT and many of them dont necesarily require gameplay.

@Rohirrim I wouldn't go that far to say that the current ending is the worst in videogame history or that the IDT would be the best.

Hello everyone, I finished ME3 in the past week and that ending... wow, I knew what was coming from having spoiled it, and I was still going wtf? during parts of it. I hope IT turns out to be true, in part because of some of the things that had me scratching my head the most. Like the whole Normandy fleeing/teleporting squadmates thing.

There is simply no logical reason for the Normandy to come down and pick them up. Even if the accomapanying squad mates were not hit by the Reaper blast, theres no way any of them should be willing to retreat permanently. They would either press on to the beam, check on Shepard, or regroup with Major Coates and the remaining Hammer forces. But they would not have gotten evaced by the Normandy. And to have them smiling, and acting like everythings fine after they crash, especially the LI? NO WAY.

Then too there's other things that I'm sure have been covered, but that I'll briefly mention a few of them just in case. If IT is not true, why does the beam come out right to the one corridor that leads to the control panel to open the citadel arms? That makes no sense. It should lead to a big area for processing people, or to a defensive line manned by reaper troops on the citadel itself, not to controls the reapers don't want accesed. Where does TIM even come from, if IT isn't true? As I know someone else pointed out, why does the Catalyst choose the form of the child that's been haunting Shepard's dreams? Shepard never mentions the child to anyone, so why go with that form instead of the Virmire sacrifice?

Speaking of the child, those dreams matched indoctrination info in a number of ways, as others have mentioned (whispering oily shadows, nightmarish visions of the burning child, etc). If IT is not the route Bioware goes, that means we went through three of those suckers, for what? To show Shepard upset over the deaths of innocents, as some say the boy represents? Fine if it were one dream, but three just for the same point if that's all it is just comes across as bludgeoning the player, and thus bad writing. And these are just some of the issues that I don't think can be properly covered with an ending that provides closure if Bioware rigidly adheres to the apparent current ending in the DLC.

Whether or not Bioware goes the IT route, I'd like to say thanks to all the p[eople who worked hard on deciphering ME3 and reaching that conclusion. I think there's enough evidence that IT was planned by at least the main writers, and I lean towards thinking that yes, they shipped an incomplete game and were planning on later releasing ending DLC and charging for it. Whether that's true or not, I believe IT the best way of resolving the ending plotholes, and providing a way to move the current content forward to a far more satisfactory ending.

Calling it a nuke is a bit extreme though.

There is a picture that floats around here that shows the center of the citadel engulfed in a fireball. But what's not shown is the Citadel just half a second after that. The rings where the explosion seems to come from is still in tact. If the force of the explosion was as great as a nuke, that part of the citadel would have been torn to peices.

Could it be that is was left over energy from the blast from the crucible?

No, it's dead on. As others have said: quantum shielding. The Mu Relay was lost because a nearby star went supernova and the shockwave sent it flying light years away. It was completely undamaged. That's the kind of protection quantum shielding offers. So yes, it's completely reasonable for the Citadel to have withstood that kind of blast. It's actually quite a testament to the power of that blast that it could have done any damage to the Presidium ring.

Edit:  Oh, and to answer the obvious question: the Reapers don't use quantum shielding on themselves because it's kind of like a turtle hiding in its shell.  The same protection that shields you from the rest of the universe also shields the rest of the universe from you.
