If they left the ending as it is (without the post ending kick in the balls 'Shepherd is a legend now buy our dlc') everyone would have to make their own assumptions without the promise of the free Extended Cut. Where would that leave us?
I guess they must be lazy.

You know how thety said that ec wasn't planned from prior to release(i don't believe it, but let's go with it)? What if the intent of waiting was to get player opinion on how the game should end. Like to see what exactly people want ot of the endings. This would in turn give them more time to make a suitable emding that players had a hand in forming.
Is it likely? Probably not, but an amusing thought I came up with just now.

No, it's not an ending, but you know what it IS? It's the clarification and expansion that BioWare spoke of. It still GIVES you that chance to have all your questions answered and to get your closure. It allows for the story to continue. And here you are telling me that it's a non ending? YOU'LL GET YOUR ENDING STILL!
In the end, we all get what we want, BioWare keeps their vision, us IT people are happy we nailed it and the people who wanted their closure get that too.

There are plenty of games that have cliff hanger endings or just "non-endings" or games that add on to the endings or change the endings. It happens what makes mass effect so different? ^^^ this argument is so overused get over it, what will you not download the FREE DLC?

What exactly are the factors that determine which other squad member, along with your LI walks out of the Normandy at the end? I'm trying to make EDI walk out of it after a destroy ending.
I would imagine getting edi to come out would require a huge amount of EMS. Seems the more EMS you have the least amount of damage the red space magic does.

There’s some multiplayer stuff, but we’re also planning some DLC on the single-player side, because it did really good in Mass Effect 2. There’s a reason why we can add stories to what’s there. The adventure-type DLC will happen in the time frame of Mass Effect 3, within your Mass Effect 3 storyline. It’s similar to how with Mass Effect 2, if you had a saved game from anywhere inside the game, you could go on to the DLC. We have a pretty neat concept for how it’s going to work.

Will anyone really buy ME3 DLC? ME2 DLC did well because everyone was under the impression that we were still fighting for something.

But if that was the case, why keep pissing people off with this constant mention of "artistic integrity"? They HAVE to have known that phrase was going to make people mad.
I don't think any company that relies on the public to survive is going to purposely say "We want to listen to the players, but we're sticking with our artistic integrity", when they were actually looking for the players' opinions.

This "free dlc" crap with resurgence was a joke.
The level of repairs and add ins to the game needed in the ending, is nothing short of somethign on the level of shadow broker dlc +.
But anything they might charge is 1 microsoft point too many. So they at are an impasse.
No free dlc is worth it in Single player at least non I've heard off.
They've set a standard with overlord, which I thought shadow broker was over priced. Given the length and size of overlord for just 560.
So if they charge anything above 560 for this "extended" dlc. would be reidiculous. And I know the level of work has to exceed 800 easy. Given is EA Id oubt they'll pass the opportunity to milk all of you buggers , no offense, itching for anything but the ending.

I'm inclined to believe that it's always your LI and I'm not really sure the criteria for the second person. I did talk to Javik quite a bit though, but I talked to EVERYONE as much as I could.

Can't believe it ever started. oh, one thing according to the video epyon keeps referring to (over and over and over and over again), the fly cam vid. the grooves in the rubble, which supposedly match the grooves found within the metal plates on the citadel, can also be foun on tuchanka..on the turia platoon mission. the rubble all around that map, has the exact same grooves in it. oh, it can also be found in the rubble laying in london...and probably everywhere goddamn else rubble can be found. no offense here, just pointing out. i'm not even going start talking about the fact...that there simply is no concrete on the citadel.

not sure on the second. I took Garrus for most of the game. Until after the Ranoch mission did I start taking 1 different in order at the time. Except for Ashley. Still angry at her.
And yet she and Liara walk out of the normandy... I dont get Ashley getting out. IN my first game. I took Liara and Garrus every single mission and they both came out of the normandy. My last playthrough was my LI, and the person I almost never took with me lol
