There is a faction who thinks they can control the reapers in just about every cycle (or at least the previous cycle) That is not an accident, TIM started thinking he could control the reapers back in the First Contact war, that "idea" was all the influence the reapers needed on TIM.

They attacked Cerberus because
A. TIM was getting to close to controlling husks,
B. When TIM found the plans for the crucible and warned the reapers, Cerberus was no longer useful.

But instead of killing TIM, they tightened the grip of indoc in order to further influence Shepard, or he might already be dead.

I think the reapers exploit people's greed for power in order to get them indoctrinated. TIM seems to be a just as strong as Shepard is. The problem is that TIM wants power. That greed opened the door.

A) They must have known about TIM's inentions from the beginning since they seem to be able to read minds. It doesn't make much sense that they'll let him get that close.

B) I agree. But they wouldn't kill him off just like that. I'm pretty sure they hang on to indcotrinated people as long as their bodies hold out.

I disagree.. TIM in no way has anywhere near the willpower that shep does.

Different kind of willpower :P

Yep, TIM had the kind of willpower the reapers could easily corrupt. Shepard? Not so much.

Um...guys? I just loaded my Citadel save and it started MID CUTSCENE in the control ending. Perhaps I'd turned the xbox off at this point last time but...it can do that? What? :S

I think he was, he just had that one thing that got them in his head. To be able to selectively go along with the reapers for so much time shows some kind of will power.

For one, the reapers wanted Shepard dead and succeeded by using the collectors to take them out. TIM went to great lengths to bring him back. Why would the reapers either allow TIM to resurrect reaper enemy #1 and allow them to take out the collectors, their favorite slaves?

How would they not have known he was even doing it if he didn't have enough will power to keep them out of his head?

Nope, byne, you're a class act and that's some funny stuff.  I kinda wish we could use the SP Cerebus Armor in MP.  But this is so much better.  Do you talk like you're indoctrinated while playing or make sounds like the oily shadows?  That would be funny.

I don't think it's a car. I think it's the tube that holds all of the cable together around the destroy option. Not 100% though.

Hmm, I used some "Photoshop Magic" and well... it's hard to say... for sur it's not debris... looks like hmm well "technology" piece...

Yeah, I agree. This is the only bit of evidence that made me even CONSIDER Shepard on the citadel, or the theory that the hallucination begins when your ship crashes (it looks a bit like a shuttle?). Maybe it's a MAKO? Or is it too rounded?

Also, I'd swear (with the brightness up) that the thing behind it is an upturned MAKO. Don't suppose you can use your photoshop skills to check?

If you can provide me with a screenshot better than Youtube then we can do some investigation ;)

Unfortunately I can't. The clip I saw with the brightness up was some guy on youtube analysing it to say that it was the Citadels rubble, but i can't find it now :@

I am however checking videos to see if anything near the beam looks like the object.

EDIT: SON OF A...I forgot to get to the run at the beam I'd have to go through the whole of London, since nothing after the shot can be trusted (anyone else notice that a downed ship transforms into...a vertical piece of...floor? after the beam hits you?)

It may have been my video. This is the revised version

I can't tell if it was you, but thank you, that pic of the object is much clearer. I'm a bit confused as to what your video is saying the obect is though? Is it the thing in the pic just before it? Because that looks rectangular :S

Saren tried to do Synthesis.

Shepard.. well....

oh... nice I hadn't thought of it that way... NICE.

Saren failed, TIM failed... dont follow into their footsteps, wink wink wink :P

But why did they fail? Because Shepard, the untatinted one, stopped them.

Well because Srane was fooled by the reapers that synthetis would work.

TIm believed Contorl would work because of the reapers.

They wouldn't have succeeded if we hadn't stop them. The reapers would have succeded. The whole idea was to fool someone into denial or an illusion of peace or survival. "is submission not preferable to extinsion". Saren was teh synthesis ending. TIM was the control ending. They picked those endings and look how it turned out.

What exactly are the factors that determine which other squad member, along with your LI walks out of the Normandy at the end? I'm trying to make EDI walk out of it after a destroy ending.

I would imagine getting edi to come out would require a huge amount of EMS. Seems the more EMS you have the least amount of damage the red space magic does.

Isn't everything after 4000 just eye candy?

Yes...but I'm obsessive compulsive enough to try and make my total 10000 EMS with 100% galactic readiness.

Yes the thing just before it is what I believe the object is. Of course I'm not 100% about it.

But was synthesis and control even possible without the crucible? Remember the catalyst says the crucible changed him and open up new possibilities.

Also, Saren wanted to coexist with reapers as opposed to becoming slaves or be killed by them. I don't think synthesis was his goal. Especially since the control ending allows the reapers to live, letting them coexist with organics.

It's symbolic, not literal. They didn't all go into this room and see the catalyst and stuff, and they weren't given the options exactly like Shepard was (in fact that entire scene is more for us than Shepard). The difference between control and synthesis is that one person believes THEY (can) control the reapers, while the other accepts the Reapers tasks and goals as their own (I will help create more Reapers). Green is worse than blue because their isn't any rationalisation for it any more. Saren and Tim both fell by control, but Saren progressed onto Synthesis.

By th way, try typing out the definition of the synthesis ending, then type out a description of a Reaper :P  It's funny :P

Saren specifically said that synthetic and organic synthesis is the pinnacle of evolution. That's why he let all that reaper tech in his face.

Yeah it was the leg I thought as well (though obviously it's nowhere near clear enough for me to be sure). It's because of the distinct curve...most vehicles in ME tend to be rectangular. I just don't know :P

I should stop naming my accounts after my WoW characters.

Dont get me wrong, just because I play on xbox doesnt mean I doubt PC is the superior platform to play on, but I have a mac, so I cant really play PC games, and I'm too lazy to bootcamp.

Also, I've played ME on xbox since ME1, so thats where all my saves are.

I would have gotten it on PC but since my ME2 saves were on the XBOX already I just went with that. I guess there is a way to format the save for use on PC though right? I might do this down the road.

But yeah, I had to get me a rig once Skyrim came out.
