have you read any of the this 150+ pages on this thread?

I have and I want it to be true, and with all this evidence it SHOULD be true.

But there are many people who will poke holes in the argument. For every person that says Shepard looks like an indoctrinated Husk when you pick the two options that allow the Reapers to live, there is another person saying that it is simply Shepard's cybernetics that are shown underneath the skin before he is incinerated.

Believe me, I want this to be a big illusion by Bioware the likes of which the gaming world has never seen. I'll keep reading the pages in the thread and then maybe I'll have a more enlightened view.

We have 151 pages of solid argument XD
Whether you've read them all or not is on you, :P

What you have is circumstancial evidence that can be interpreted to support your theory. Some of it is very compelling, but it would hardly hold up in court. Posted Image

In the words of Spock: "We have no proof. All we have is a theory that happens to fit the facts."

How do you know how it would hold up? Maybe not if your the judge but that clearly doesn't mean the evidence isn't solid and based on factual evidence...

I noticed that in the end sequence (after being shot by harbinger) your surgical scaring appeared again, even though i had it fixed in me2. Anyone know what this could signify?

This guy has a point I'd like to hear more opinions on that as well

I thought it was just to give you a nice visual reminder that you have synthetic technology in you.

Which is interesting - because it obviously isn't enough to kill you if you choose the destroy ending - which leads back to the whole indoctrination / hallucination thing again.

That is fair. So far a lot of this thread has been throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. However, I've noticed since the thread's inception that a lot of people have been convinced by the sheer amount of things that have stuck.

This is one of those cases where the theory fits all available evidence, but PROVING it is very, very difficult.

Again, I am still crawling through data files.

Hey everyone! I noticed something today playing through ME 1! At virmire right after you defeat Saren then he chokes you and you punch him in the face, I noticed as Shepard aims the pistol and doesn't shoot and the sides of the screen become blurred(like in the ME3 ending). I always thought that it was because he was getting a blood rush back to his head, BUT if we run with the indoctrination theory  then maybe its possible sovereign influenced him just enough not to. It would make sense since Saren hadn't activated the conduit yet and was still needed. I'm not saying thats why but I thought it odd how well it fit into this theory.

For what it's worth, my Paragade chose all Renegade options in the conversation with TIM at the end and received a critical failure for it. I'm not sure what that indicates, if anything.

I didn't notice the cybernetics showing through anywhere. I noticed that my femshep was all sorts of beat up and bruised, cuts, black eye, bloody nose, but no cybernetics

There is one random unknown statue at the end, that is about all i could personally find.

We can all spaculate.i want to believe that its just a hallucination. But changing the end with a DLC would be a worst marketing decision i think. Non mass effect fans would not buy it, and they are dissing the game already. I would pay 60 bucks more to see a better ending though!

I think the current end is the worst marketing decision they can do right now for this franchise. That being said if they charge for an new ending DLC a lot of ppl will be mad, but not sure it will be as much as it is right now. Who would buy a ME3 DLC after that? Nearly no one, Shepard is dead and the universe is screwed...

Did you do the persuade checks in the other three encounters with TIM?

I think that was just speculation. It was in reference to the photo of the child that says 'last seen on earth', but I don't think we confirmed if it was on The Citadel memorial wall or her photowall

My first playthrough premptively told her to GTFO.

I honestly can't remember and that's why I don't think this is indicative of anything in particular, I just found it odd that I failed the conversation and had to redo it with paragon choices afterward.

There's an option to say "I want you off my ship," but I haven't taken it.

Somehow I get the feeling that somebody at Bioware is gonna say "Wow, I never thought of that. Good catch, though."

You can also choose to just not have her come onboard, sort of nullifying the idea that the reaper device was brought onboard by her.

I think that most would agree that if the ending we have now are intended then this is somehow a case where an otherwise epic experience was trashed in the last minutes. This I can't understand. I am really not a fan of wild theories but to go through 3 games and leaving all the plot-holes to the last 10 min of third game doesn't seem possible. Right after the laser blast its one plot-hole after another. A 5 year old could have pointed them out and yet a team of professionals who have done and amazing job to that point miss them. I don't buy it. It just doesn't seem possible that this was the best ending Bioware could come up with. Even if you thought the premise was a good idea, it still explained nothing.

I like the indoctrination theory even if it isn't true. Bioware should just pretend its what they meant the whole time.
