So, off topic, but I was playing multiplayer, and I just died, and I didnt know why, so when I looked at the thing that normally says 'Bunster was taken down by X' it was all 'Bunster committed suicide.'

idk how I even managed that

I also read someone's theory saying they could of been created by species in another galaxy to stop organics getting to advance and try and take of their galaxy lol.

I like my theory. It shows why the keepers don't look different and I think it was a theory in ME 1 on Illos.

But how do you the keepers still look the same? And I read that theory somewhere on here (about mine).

I think the keepers look the same because we as the player can't tell the same differences or because being the first speices it could be in there genes. Maybe you should make a group and get lots of Keeper fans and talk about their origin.

I always thought the keepers were like the collectors. Genetic mutations made only to do certain tasks. The fact that we don't know where they come from in the Citadel makes me really want to know more.

Also, what's in charge of keeping the keeprs in line and why do they have what seems to look like a radio transmitter on teir backs? What are the communicating with?

You can commit suicide?

Thinking about it now the only way you could if you blew yourself up. That's wierd.

I thought the Keepers were made somewhere in the citadel no one can reach. To me the Keepers and The Reapers are like the Quarian and the geth.

Nah, I've shot missiles at my feet before, thats usually how I deal with Banshees that get up close since my aim sucks.

Plus I hadnt fired a missile when it said I committed suicide.

Right I assumed you hadn't blown yourself up by any means. Very strange. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. What map was it?

Meh to lazy for that lol, anyway no one even attempted to answer my first question so I will post it again it is easy to get lost in this thread it moves way to fast.

I have a question and no clue if anyone has addressed it any where or even thought about it. You know in ME1 how the Protheans "apply" the conduit to the citadel to stop the reapers from using it as a Mass Effect relay.
My question is if the keeper are the slaves of the reapers why didn't they just disconnect it or what ever it does,
wouldn't they have known something was wrong and tried to fix it? Maybe the keepers are sort of on our side "rebelling" in small ways?

I think the reapers reprogrammed the Keepers to just follow orders and upkeep the citadel. So they can't change anything unless someone went to the keepers and change their feq.

The Protheans reprogrammed the keepers to not respond to reapers signals.

Yeah but it is not functioning like it should therefore it is broken and they should automatically try and fix it it shouldn't they? They should know something is not right if nothing happens when they respond to the reapers call?

This happened to me once but actually I was killed by a banshee. Maybe when the banshee grabbed me my character though he was better off dead? [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/pouty.png[/smilie]

The keepers are broke inside, did you look at their eyes? Its like looking at a scared puppy, in fear they can't do anything, so they upkeep the citadel.

I can't find a good pic.

Anywho, something that occured to me while playing through the ending.

The Citadel is the Catalyst, this has been established by the Prothean VI. Everyone in the real, physical world agrees with this, only one does not, the Star child. They never mentioened the Starchild anywhere else, and there was in fact, nothing to build up to or establish him, and in fact specifically said the Citadel was the Catalyst, and the reasons for why (power) considering it was planned by organics and the first organic, supposedly, to meet the SC is Shepard, they couldn't have planned with the SC in mind. Self contradicting logic.

I'm probably just an idiot, but the entire Starkid issue seems to be a problem.  SC talks about the need to create order from the chaos of organics, and that the Reapers create order, but then is somehow intimately-associated with the Crucible(?) - which is ultimately a weapon used to create chaos and/or order - that can only be used based on the single decision of a single organic being.

To me, that would be like the USA giving North Korea the blueprints for a nuclear weapon and then asking them whether they think they should use it or not...

Hence why the popular theory is that Task Manager is in fact, Harbinger, in fact, some people have reported they heard low registers of Harbinger's voice mixed in with fem/male Shep and the kid. for the SC voice. Though, this is as of yet, unconfirmed.

Also, Expyon, you might be wondering why I have not bothered replying to you...

I will reply WHEN YOU STOP GIVING YOUR OWN SPECULATIONS AS FACTS. Until then, you are not worth my time to counter.

This has probably already been mentioned, but has anyone else realised that you can shoot your pistol in the cut scene just after shepard is hit by the lazer, even before he/she touches the gun. It recoils and has a muzzle flash. Not exactly sure what to make of this...

The keepers were originally made by the reapers. Originally they were the ones that activate the relay but the Protheans reprogrammed them, now they only respond to the citadel itself.

C'mon people...

I guess I just want to belive Bioware is really that intricate rather than rushed. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the IT was an early idea, but due to lack of time and resources the 'fantasy' was designated as real. That way they have the advantage of fixing the problems and working past the release date whilst incorperating as much feasible fan feedback. Not sure if rushed or intelligent...

They were reprogrammed by the reapers, but their true origin is unknown:

Mass Effect wika:

"
According to Vigil, the keepers were likely once a race that was either created, conquered, or indoctrinated by the Reapers, possibly even the first race they enslaved. Whatever their origins, the main purpose of the keepers now is to maintain the Citadel in its attractive state so that sentient organic life will settle there, and support their habitation of the Citadel once they take possession of the station, as they have for countless other races throughout time. "
