Huh. Just looked up object Rho and it apparently takes it's energy from Dark Matter. Now, a lot of people think that they simply dropped that storyline (even though it was heavily hinted to be important), but listen to what the Prothean VI says the catalyst does

http://www.youtube.c...aMFZGwHs#t=458s

Odd.

I never liked the Dark Matter and Reaper twist, it made the reapers "good" to a degree. To me the Reapers are evil, expect to the Keepers (as they can keep their form).

If that's referring to the leaked script, I didn't read it (and still won't). But I have no trouble with the Reapers being "good" to a degree, I mean, even if they're simply doing this to reproduce then they aren't evil. Emotional complexity isn't such a terrible thing in a game like this.

Never liked it probably coz you just realized what it was originally meant to be. I like either ones. Implying there isn't a reason for something so old and powerful that isn't just "we are evil aliens coming to eat you" is a better argument.

Simplicity in argument leads to lazyness of thought. Lazyness of thought leads to stupidity.

Stupidity leads to suffering.

...sorry, couldn't help myself :P

Okay, I am going to quote this again.  I don't think enough people
have seen it (either that, or y'all are such cold heartless bastards
that it doesn't have any impact on you! :P).  To me, this has the emotional power of ~2000 blue babies wearing N7 hoodies.

Also a disclaimer:  I have abo****ely no connection to the comic or the comic's creator, or the comic creators' cousin's cousin - at least I don't think so!;)  I just think it is ****ing amazing and want more people to see it!

Can you not hear a deep voice? It's either completely new, or they amped up maleShep.

Please tell me you hear it too?

Yeah it's there. My video has FemShep a little clearer.

Old-school RPGs had you fight the final boss that had two or three times forms before you can beat the game.

OH GAWD. I miss my oldschool rpg's.

I'm kinda counting this entire wait for the EC as the bossfight for ME3 though is what i was trying to say.

So, we all thought the boss was TIM or the Reapers, but it actually turned out the the Final Boss Battle of Mass Effect was us against Bioware?

It's not us against Bioware. It's us against us.

If you argue with someone who picked control, they sound like TIM. Like, they sound EXACTLY like him, but for some reason they never notice it :P  It's happened to me on several occasions. It's amazing.

Some ppl already lost, by trading in their games.

Also about old-school games I try to just overlevel as most of those bossfights kicks my ****, but I did beat down Ultimecia in Final Fantasy 8.

Yeah, grinding for hours is usually the best way to handle those things, remember that little cactus guy in FF7? so..much...exp.

I got to the party of FF 7 late, as I couldn't get new FF until FFIX. When I played it I just went fast-forward to beat the game and I got my **** handed to me by  sephiroth.

FYI I did to beat 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10,12,13 and some of the other spin-offs and side stories.

My fave is 7, though 6 is a close second,10 is my 3rd, and 1 is my fourth favorite.

I don't want to admit this, but I haven't beat it yet. I never had the SNES growing up, but my DS version is somewhere in my room.

Not really. I'm still reeling from this incredibly amusing image of the citadel tower map from ME one. If anything proves Bioware like putting in subtle hints, it's this. And the Conduit.

But then you're implying that Hackett gave the full retreat order to the fleet, since individual ships don't have the privilage of running away when damaged. We know this isn't true, as we can see the fight going on outside. Either that, or Joker disobeyed orders and fled from a battle, abandoning everyone he knew or cared about.

It wasn't a full retreat since you can still see fighting going on right outside the crucible like you say. But a damaged ship holding records of all of Shepards missions, accomplishments, reaper data and eye witnesses would be lost if it went down on earth. Why risk losing so much info that can be passed down to a future cycle?

I highly doubt the Normandy was the repository for all humanity's Reaper knowledge. If that was the case they would simply have backed everything up before launching the attack.

Besides, the point of this cycle is that you choose to fight, rather than do what the Protheans did (prepare the next cycle). Priorities in battle.

I wouldn't say it was all of it but Shepard has been using that ship to battle them pretty much single handedly since ME1 or at  least ME2 with th SR2.

Backed it up to where? Earth's colonies are history and Earth was hit first. And if they did have a special place no one knew about, maybe that's where joker was headed.

The protheans fought for 100 years. They only resorted to saving information when there was no hope left. And that was without the reapers knowing about the crucible.

On the subject of 13... the "art" of it.

Did you ever hear that theory about how they intentionally kept it linear to match the feeling of the first world (cocoon right?). And then on that other planet that was all wild, survival of the fittest, to reflect the nature of that second planet.

NM, I never finished it so I shouldn't even talk about it.

I apologize for being the one to bring this up again (for the hundredth time in this thread) but to me, the biggest plot hole is the "control" the TIM has over Shepard and Anderson in the Citadel. I realize that Joker and Shep's squadmates running away after somehow teleporting to the Normandy is also major plot-hole, but to me, that COULD be explained away by some "convenient" and/or lazy writing.

So, is there any precedent for "body control" in any ME outlet that I am unaware of? AFAIK, no human (even if indoctrinated) has ever been able to control the body of another being.

Therefore, if IT is NOT true, then how will BW possibly explain this part? Saren was obviously indoctrinated, but never showed any ability to control people's motor-skills. So how does TIM suddenly have the ability to make Shepard shoot Anderson, for example?

Sorry, I realize that this is a thread in support of IT, but I think if we TRY to find ways to explain some of the plot-holes without IT, and can't do it, it makes IT more likely to be the only logical alternative. Other than the "all-of-the-sudden-horrible-writing-at-the-end" excuse that some anti-IT'ers are using.

Playing Devils advocate;
I don't think this is one that strengthens IT.

Technically Shepard himself could have that power in a NG+ in ME2 with Morinth's Dominate bonus power.

It would be a pretty easy argument to make that since the Reapers have already assimilated a number of
Ardat-Yakshi. They could have given TIM the Dominate “Bonus power” they gained from reaping the Ardat-Yakshi.

Anyone of you care to maybe back this interesting claim by a survey, say a poll here that let's folks choose between a combination of what ending they chose in their first playthrough and their opinion on IT?

I'd be very interested in the result.

TIM was studying indoctrination though, not ardat yakshi. The reapers don't have the power to "give" TIM any powers outside  of what reaper tech can do.

Yes, Shepard has, but Shepard writes mission reports like any other captain. There's not a desk drawer in the normandy full of sheets of paper about the reapers.

Anywhere. There are still clearly lots of human colonies left, since ANN is still up, and you freely recieve email from people. You do have wireless communication after all.

But why send a ship with critical information into a battle? All it is then is a burden. Besides, its is stated over and over again that the battle for Earth is the galaxies last stand against the Reapers, the majority of the fleets are all gathered there. Every ship would surely have been told to fight until they died.
