Also, we never see this for any other indoctrination.
Perhaps we're looking at this the wrong way, and the effect (both times) is for the player. Specifically - arg scary reaper is doing something.
I mean, none of the characters mention in. In fact, before this discussion, it hadn't even crossed my mind that they were seeing it.
Yeah, maybe like I said, It's just supposed to give the player an eerie feeling associated with direct contact with the Reapers. And that kind of strengthen's IT a little.
So no one seems to be interested in discussing "swarms of nanites" from Sanctuary.
I thought someone pointed out that these nanites turn people into Husks?
Husk are in the final stage of indoctrination (post-indoctrination) so it could all have started with nanites.
In one of the logs, Miranda's dad I think, says the nanines use the body's adrenaline to spread real quick. So when someone's getting spiked they turn very quickly. I can't imagine Shepard would be unaffected for so long.

Nanites fast track to huskification and skips the whole "it's in your head" part
Husks *can be* a final stage but it's not like rana thanoptis turned into a husk. If Shep were injected with nanites, he wouldn't be indoctrinated, he would just be a husk.
Also, we never see this for any other indoctrination.

It also goes away when you shoot TIM, doesn't it? If it were Reapers trying to brute force attack you why does it stop when you shoot TIM? IT explains this, literal doesn't.
EDIT - also, the reaper growls happen at very specific points. And you can hear the dream whispering in the background if you put in earphones.

No, husks are the reanimated dead bodies of people. We've also seen that it's a fast process.
The codex entry on indoctrination says Reapers use the 'fast' method of indoctrination (that is, it happens very quickly but deteriorates a person's mind) for creating husks as shock troops, if I remember right.
By the way I noticed that the shifting walls are just those electric panels.
Don't know if anyone else noticed but the walls actually do move. I might be late to the party but just in case I'm not here's a quick clip that shows it.
This gives a good indication that Anderson was way ahead of you before the doors to your hallway opened.
Yeah but there is only one entrance into the final room. Assuming Anderson started in roughly the same area as you, the entire middle section you were in would have to rotate to connect it to the entrance. That's a hell of a bizarre design.
Check another one of my videos.
I see a few flaws in your video. In that other hallway, there isn't an entry port from the beam. Not to mention, both of them would have been within shouting distance and Anderson would have been seen crossing the bridge.
Of course. I can't really explain those flaws without speculating on how the beam works. i got into this with Dreman(I think) on another forum. I guessed that the beam throws bodies into succedding halways one by one to avoid crowding of the beam.
They could have shouted at each other but I think the point was to be quiet and not let the whole Citadel know you were there, espcially when it's barely bright enough for you to see.
BTW there are way more rooms like this. I think they're about 10.
Also, thinking about the whole thing, the control panel probably wasn't meant to open the arms specifically. Shepard must have experience working the Citadel's controls being a spectre and all. The only place that there' no clear access to is the decision chamber where a raising platform is needed to get you there.
Just because they did it slighlty differently doesn't make it not real. You also slowly walk when you are on the original Normandy when it is attacked by the Collector ship, are the ending scenes and that therefore connected?
"Nothing Anderson makes any sense"- Such as?
The Illusive Man, as established on Sanctuary, has limited ability to control organics, which is what he does to Shepard
"what sounded like Reaper grumbling"- ??
The illusive man was studying how to control husk and similar things, NOT ORGANICS.
Also, we never see this for any other indoctrination.

The thing we need to remember as well, is that TIM "was already controlled" by the reapers at this point regardless. So everything he does to Anderson and Shep is being condoned and perhaps strengthened by the reapers.
Also, we never see this for any other indoctrination.

He was saying in the logs on Sanctuary that his plan was to control Reaper forces with the end goal of having control over the Reapers themselves.

It was a test, kill TIM you pass. It also lowers your guard "oily shadows gone, no more indoctrination going on here!"
Now the reapers try a new tactic (submission didnt work, so now they appeal to your guilt with the kid)That's when you get the next challenge: the choices.

Maybe his artifact or whatever he had only worked because Shepard and Anderson were in the process of being indoctrinated. His goal was to control Reaper forces, after all.
By the way I noticed that the shifting walls are just those electric panels.

I get the point you're making though. There are other entry points and with some hand-waving we could say Anderson literally came up into one of those. Or it could be Shepherd's head creating those extra rooms for metaphorical Anderson (representing Shepherd's unindoctrinated part of his brain) to come in. Hard to say definitively. Implications........... unsettling.

Inhaling nanites might make their spread slower. In the end Shepard is turned into a husk anyway (Control/Synthesis). If he chooses Destroy, according to IT none of this matters because he wakes up and you can consider swarms of nanites as a means to visualize indoctrination (but only outside of the dream, during the dream they should be considered as a concrete piece of technology).

Correct on both counts.
It goes away just as Anderson dies. It only comes up again when Anderson gets on the ground.
Alternatively, It shows up when TIM is fighting indoctrination and goes away just before he turns and shoots himself.

yes, he was seen trying to control Reaper forces. He was trying to figure out a way to amplify it so he could control Reapers themselves.
As soon as TIM says something along the lines "Witness their power!" a loud and startling synthetic noise plays, which could be a Reaper. When Anderson says the place is shifting and changing, gets ahead of Shepard when there is only one visible path avaliable, and talks about the bodies being like the Collector Ship. In ME2, I remember seeing one pile of bodies in the disabled Collector Ship, while the rest were preserved in stasis pods. It seemed too wasteful to be making the Reaper's "Human Smoothie". Shepard slowly walks when the Collectors wreck her ship is because she is in space. The conclusion of ME1 showed Shepard slowly moving when she broke out of the elevator due to a lack of gravity. Shepard is on Earth when Harbinger shot her.
