I believe someone mentioned that the Datapad app, some people got a message from Ashley (maybe Kaidan too, not sure) about how they "wouldn't let her see you yet".

Hmm.. now I know that it could be referencing the beginning of the game but if you remember right, Shepard wasn't allowed contact with anyone besides Vega and maybe Anderson. He was under constant lockdown and surveillance.

Just an interesting thing that probably has no merit but is pretty cool nonetheless.

Oh man, this Datapad is the only reason I want an ipad or iphone really bad.
I'm pathetic.

But ashley/kaiden are both surprised to see shepard.. as if they've yet to try and make contact with him/her. (at the beginning of the game)

Gonna have to replay that myself. I don't remember the whispers getting that loud the closer you got to the kid.

The only other possibility is that perhaps it's a Krogan? But it only seems to happen when you get close to the child, he walks off and it fades away again.

it seems like the deep voice is harbinger or a krogan talking backwards. It's not gibberish, it distinctly sounds like english played backwards.

Second dream is it? Let me see if I have a save. time to get creative people!

What, figuring out how to cut together the sounds in the correct order? :P Difficult :P

I apologise if this question has already been answered or I'm just plain dumb.

I've seen in a few places people saying that for the Indoctrination Theory to make sense it would rely on the Reapers being beaten by Conventional Warfare.

Am I missing something? I thought the Indoctrination Theory still means potentially choosing Destroy so that the Crucible destroys all Synthetics including the Reapers?

Here's an article that gives you the broad points of IT. If you don't know much about it, great, have a look, and come back with any problems you see with it. Fresh eyes are always helpful :)

Thank you for this.  I understand where the thought comes from now.  I originally just watched the Video that is linked to on IGN's website about the Indoctrination Theory and I got the impression from the Video that the choice you make still actually occurs, it's just that the way the choices are presented is part of the attempted Indoctrination.

This makes me wonder something more about the Theory.  Again some may have already gone through this, but what if the whole waking up after the Beam sequence actually happens but the way it is shown (i.e. Leaves outside, Handgun with Infinite Ammo, Starchild and the way he presents the choices etc) is just part of the attempted Indoctrination?

Assuming the events at the beginning of the game are real aside from the Child, surely that means the events from after the Beam can be real as well, just with far more surreal imaginings from Sheperd due to attempted Indoctrination?

Hope that makes sense.

Well, I'm hooked. I just want a logical explaination for the random actions at the end of the game. And the IT fits quite well.

I was listening to the ME3 soundtrack today, specifically "An end once and for all.," and I have two thoughts about it:

- Damn, the music is amazingly evocative, but it makes me relive the whole ending sequence in my mind,     which is a deeply unpleasant experience!

- The song ends with on a very ominous and cliffhanger-esque note.  I can't bear to play or rewatch the ending sequence (don't judge me!  I'm sensitive!), so can somebody tell me what part of the ending sequence coincides with the ending of the song?  Is it right after Shepard makes her final choice?

This is an interesting listen too, for any who havent seen it:

Nearly 10 minutes of dialog recorded for those dream sequences, rivaling what was recorded for the entire "climax" of the game....

And then of course to state the obvious, there are reaper sounds mixed up in the background. What i mean is the sounds a reaper makes when its near you, some kind of synthesized tech sound. Anyway you know it when you hear it. Also, the mouth sounds (like chomping on meat or ripping flesh) are similar to the sounds that came from the Prothean Cipher so maybe that's the effect of it floating around in Shepherd's head.

Thought I'd mention it: I've used some time trying to listen to the whole dream sequence in reverse and/or slowed down and everything. But it still is mostly gibberish. I think the purpose isn't to be exact WORDS, but resemble words so much that we can piece toghether whats being said if we listen close enough.

The part around the kid doesn't sound like a Krogan AT ALL. It sounds like harbinger. I've listened to that backwards, slowed down, dittrent tempo, everything. It doesnt make much sense, but my mind started maknig out the word "controll". Most probably just listened to it TOO much, so I start filling in the blanks. But its fun to listen to. Download audacity and the youtube soundfile and play around with it, and you might make more sense out of it than I did.

That is definitely a possibility, however it doesn't account for how Shepard wakes up on Earth after picking Destroy.

Someone mentioned that before but the trouble is that that's such a wide ranging statement we can't examine it. I mean, by that logic then you can just fix all the plot holes by saying it was Shepards mind messing up. It's also because of the bizarre "cut" to weirdness, where everythings fine, then suddenly everythings weird and not making sense, and the game conveniently picks this EXACT moment for you to be able to load a save from. It's too sharp a transition.

But if you want to have a look and present some evidence or whatever for that all good :) We're all piecing it together with each other :P

I mean, anyone with half-a-brain who may have played the other games knows destroy makes sense. It's what Shepherd's been trying to do all along. I don't understand the people who go through logic gymnastics to justify the control or synthesis endings. " Oh sure, I'll just go do what I just argued with TIM about or hey, how about I accept the logic of the guy I capped/talked into capping himself three years ago who brought the special needs Reaper to the Citadel. Yeah, that makes total sense."

I totally picked Synthesis :P  Couldn't condemn all the Geth to death. Besides, the problem I have with people who were "wary" about the ending but couldn't explain why - not a very logical decision :P I mean, if you actually believed the Starchild (and without knowing IT, you pretty much have to) Destroy is the worst one to pick :P

Playing it reversed makes it sound worse. Even when slowed down with the same pitch. It certainly loops over and over and sounds more Krogan than anything else. I can hear a hint of a woman's voice similar to femshep.

Also.. something I just found out.. they were gonna charge us for that resurgence map pack. There was a version of it released on xbox live that required you pay to get it. So they caved to fan influence to get it done. Maybe the same for extended cut (if originally planned)

They explained various times that that was an xbox glitch, it was only up for a few hours or something and they warned people the entire time not to buy it.

The Krogan voice is here and there, buried deep in the whispers. You have to listen hard to hear it because at first you might think it's Sovereign or Harbinger, but it has that..... gravelly Krogan quality. I may have even heard a few Rachni, but this is just the subliminal stuff I'm trying to pick up on.

As far as I know, that is incorrect.  They accidentally released that pack onto Xbox live and then immediately told everybody not to buy it.
