Also you guys should consider playing the game with no music. Lots of things pop out in the sound effects. Like the sound of the reapers being effected by the space magic on earth and on the galaxy map at the end.

Please tell me this means SOMEONE else has heard the weird whistling noise in the Crucible :P

it's the same as the beam on earth. But that just means that that's what Eezo sounds like.

Thanks, I have a few nagging doubts, but in general I am down with IT.  As for replaying the end. . .I just really want to wait until we have the final version - whatever that turns out to be.  I was extremely perturbed and unsettled by the ending for at leas a day, and I really don't want to experience that again until things have completely settled down.  However, I have been following this thread (and posting occasionally), so I am pretty familiar with most of the details - I just don't want to experience them again.  I know that is overly dramatic, but my reaction was just. . .intense.  :(

It's okay, man. The ending really does pull on your heartstrings and rustle your jimmies. It took me a week before I even picked up the game again. So I sympathize.

At elast it was only the last 15 mins. My two worst gaming experiences were FFx-2 *shudder* and Prince of Persia Warrior Within. Torture, watching them butcher the games I had loved.

Eezo?

And this is the whistle that pulses on and off every few seconds right?

@SS2DANTE - except for the ambivalent part, my experience was pretty much the same. When I first heard about it, I thought IT was little more than wishful thinking, but as soon as read that Google doc about IT, I got completely jazzed about the game again.

@BatmanTurian - Thanks, it's all good. I have greatly enjoyed following this ridiculously long thread, and I probably wouldn't have bothered with it if the ending hadn't hit me so hard.

Wait a minute!

1M1 a reused asset from ME1?

Posted Image

This may make my theory true then, that the Citadel is reforming itself and ended up squeezing those guns back to that room.

Don't worry, I know that feel. Everytime I decide to continue my second playthrough I usually stop after half an hour, recalling what awaits me at the end. So I too am waiting for more comment from Bioware's side.

For me, to be honest, the game is worth starting back up just for the Tuchanka mission alone.

" I'm fighting a Reaper, Wrex!"
" I know! You get all the fun!"
next to the rafters moment with Garrus, one of the best lines in the series.

Could be. (though I don't think they are guns, think they're just girders) I forget where this is again? (apart from the citadel, obviously :P )

Also, where are you getting these screens from? You seem to be playing all of the games at once :P

Eezo is the source of the crucible's power. It's also the source for the Mass Relays, which makes sense if the beam uses Eezo to insantly move people to the Citadel.

I didn't hear a pulse. I heard the popping of the explosions going on outside. I guess that part of the Citadel has Auditory Emulators as well.  <_<

I called them guns because they seem to be shaped like one.

This is during your climb up the Citadel tower where Sovereign attaches himself. You can see a part of his leg just over the 1M1.

EDIT:

All Mass Effect 3 stuff I make on the fly. This pic was in a bioware thread talking specifically about the 1M1.

Someone mind explaining 1M1? IF that is indeed an asset that hasn't been used since ME1, then the citadel being made of Shep's memories just got a big boost.

The hell? it can't be just me. :S  You have to turn the volume up pretty loud and disable effects, but after that it's pretty much silence apart from your footsteps and this whistle that pulses on and off. I can't find the source, apart from that near the bit where you start it's more like one continuos whistle then as you approach the choices it starts to pulse. Thought it was the beam but it doesn't really change going up the ramps :S

*shrug* auditory emulators built into the invisible glass :P

Auditory Emulators. You'd go deaf listening to a supernova and the sound of two supermassive black holes orbiting each other would put you off drums forever.

Wow okay, just.. wow.

I'd like to see people call BioWare lazy and that they rushed it now with that 1m1 being on the Citadel in MASS EFFECT 1 for god sakes.

This just lends even more to the theory

That's plausible and all but come on. The likelyhood of that is pretty low.

Ah, I see 1M1 has been noted on the forums before. Reused textures? SPace magic? Indoctrination?

Speculations!

Because Shepard has seen it before. It's all a fabric of his mind making up what he sees.

How do YOU figure that the place shifting itself somehow forces 1m1 up to where the Catalyst is?

Ah, of course.

Well I will say that, while having human construction on the citadel is more likely there, it's still not very likely. I suppose some could argue that since you're using your memories to construct it all...but still, that's probably the best argument I've seen against 1m1 having any bearing on the ending.

Unless we wanna speculate for ages why they use that particular girder over and over again in the end, when they have others? :P No? Pointless discussion that can go nowhere? All right then :P

The beam does pulse though. I'm not sure if you were able to time the pulses with the sound.

Lol at your second comment.

the ending has pieces from the collector ship, the Ilos mission, the shadowbroker ship. Honestly, reusing that from ME1 does not surprise me.

Man, how loud do you think that final explosion must have been? Nevermind the other stuff, you puncture the eadrums of every person on every ship :P
